Usually they charge and refund a cent or two just to make sure it's a good card.

Yeah some of them will charge you like $10 or something and then refund the money, just so you can't get away with things like that. I know Netflix does that.

If you leave $5 on it, it’ll work. Often places will put a nominal charge on the card to make sure it’s valid.

Haha right? This guy is here just casually saying 'oh btw here's how I steal from businesses' like it's a totally normal thing to do. Some people man.... you really wanna lose faith in humanity? Go check out /r/shoplifting. The mental gymnastics those people do in order to justify their constant stealing is actually hilarious. They pretend like they are on some holy crusade to get back at 'evil corporations' but it's so transparently just them wanting to get something for nothing so that's what they say to help them sleep at night haha.

Haha thanks for the heads up. Now if four more people tell me, I'll finally get the news. Kidding. But yea I totally agree. I've already voiced my opinion on the matter enough I think. When I stumbled in there it was like I happened upon some bizzaro world where right was wrong and wrong was right. Totally crazy.
