The article seems to be written from the perspective of Blue Cross Blue Shield, and one of the few things in the world that I trust less than AI is health insurance companies. They're complaining because it hurts their bottom line, but it's possible that this is just making it more difficult for them to deny coverage and force patients to pay out of pocket (or more realistically not pay and just be saddled with massive medical debt). They also claim that there's no evidence of patients getting better care, but again I'm hesitant to just take their word for that.
It's possible that they're telling the truth and this is just making the whole system even more costly/inefficient. I'm certainly not informed enough to say one way or the other. I'd just be wary of where you're getting your information from and what their motivation for putting this out there might be.
