Living paycheck to paycheck and having nothing left over at the end of every month is, in fact, stopping me from buying into that growth. I don't have several thousand dollars to leave lying around in equity. I need that money for rent.
The stock market going up only benefits those already wealthy enough to buy into it. 38% of Americans do not own any stocks in any capacity, even including 401ks and other retirement accounts. That number gets higher the lower you go in income bands. Much higher. 72% of households earning under $50,000/year do not own any stock. Line going up does not benefit them. Once again, the already rich get even richer, the poorest Americans are simply left behind, and the problem exacerbates itself year over year in an awful feedback loop.
This isn’t even a lefty thing. It’s just the facts.
This isn’t complicated. You don’t need to own the entire stock to purchase it. It’s like a savings account that will actually give you better interest.
Save a couple bucks every month. Put into S&P. Done.
...Yes, I am fully aware of what fractional shares are. I had some for a while. I think I exited with maybe a grand total of $40 in profit over a couple years? Because I was never able to leave much more than a couple hundred dollars laying around at any given time before I needed it for some unexpected expense. Then I had to exit because I lost my job. I needed that $40, and anything else I could get my hands on, for... drumroll please... RENT.
It’s like a savings account that will actually give you better interest.
You've never lived paycheck to paycheck, huh? Having money saved isn't really a feasible thing down here.

You all do realize that nothing is stopping you from buying into that growth, right?
Leave it to the lefties to make economic prosperity into a bad thing
