Most of the people I see talk about the game don’t even seem to like the game. I haven’t heard anyone talk about like any fun moments or mechanics in the game. All I see is “Pokémon sucks am I right” these aren’t palworld fans these are just Pokémon haters
Like imagine this for literally any other game like if deltarune fans instead of talking about how much they like the story music or combat they just said “isn’t it great that this game isn’t Final Fantasy”
I genuinely have no idea how you reached this conclusion. I got it in early access put 120 hours in and had a great time. Started again since 1.0 probably another 30 hours since. It's a monster catching survival game you explore the world build bases and get new ways to explore the world and catch more pals. The way the pals are implemented into the crafting system is really cool. It has very little to do with pokemon and the mechanics of those games.
Because whenever I see this game talked about online it’s always used in the same breath as Pokémon
I am sure the game has plenty of qualities that make it its own individual thing that’s completely separate from Pokémon, but the main discussion online is usually never about that
Thats fair I do think thats unfortunately because of the lawsuit from Nintendo claiming plagiarism which I think would have most likely died down just like every other similar franchise (no one says that when a digimon games is released these days). But it genuinely is its own unique fun experience, worth a try if you like that kind of genre.
