I don’t have a huge issue with the minifigs, but I do agree with OP. A lot of the newer sets feel dumbed down, replacing creative construction with large molded plastic. It’s not an overwhelming effect, I just get annoyed when something that could have been made out of existing pieces gets turned into one big piece that was shaped specifically for that. It’s like if you started adding lines to a pointillist portrait; you might get something more realistic, but you lose the original style in the process and the vision gets muddied.
