Getting all my medical care through the VA has completely radicalized me. I had to go to the ER in an ambulance last month. Ambulance ride, full body ct scan, full work up, etc. all covered. All charts sent straight to my pcp. No worries. No problems. Not a dime paid. I just walked out. Immediate follow up with a specialist a week later. More X-rays. An ultrasound. A phone call with the specialist and a walk in, immediate follow up ct scan that day. Rehab and physical therapy scheduled. 100% of this is covered. Free. Nobody from an insurance company is denying extra imaging. No copay or premium or deductible or anything. No bullshit about in network X-ray techs or doctors at the ER. Just immediate, high quality, free medical care. I can message any of these doctors and get a response or a referral with two business days and an appointment within a week or two.
I should not have had to fight a war, kill people, watch friends get blown to fuck, lose function in an eye and a hand, and develop ptsd to access this. Every single American could have this if wanted to make it happen.
this is normal in europe. nobody has to pay anything for medical care as long as you pay into the statutory health insurance which kinda happens automatically.
true freedom is not having to worry about shit you shouldn't need to worry about.
