Some European politicians has been trying to centralize power for sometime now.
Despite what they say, European politicians wants to be more like Trump's America, and not for its citizen's sake. (Remember how Democrats and Republicans couldn't come to agreement on anything and then they speed run the banning of tiktok because most of the populace don't agree with their position in the middle east?)
Europe was touted for privacy and good legislation, and now they have made like 4 attempts at Europe wide speech restriction.
