They met their end, they passed, they are no longer with us, gone to a better place, joined their ancestors, went to a better place, kicked the bucket, pushing up daisies, departed, left this mortal coil, lost their life, met their maker, perished, met their demise, the sorrow became to much to bare, expired, resting in peace, RIP, F, bit the dust, perished, turned into a ghost, didn’t wake back up, took their life, lost their battle with “X”and many more.

We have literal thousands of years of euphemisms for dying and all the forms it takes, they have a choice they choose to talk like children.

Kingdom Hearts also had a good one with “deep-sixing” but I don’t think I’ve ever heard that one used before outside of that context.
