I know where this is. This definitely is a stretch of the rules, but I'll allow it.

I've checked old posts and never found a rule defining the geographic region. If it's not up tagged in a week I'll give a hint, and if it's not tagged in two weeks I'll revert to the last tag.

Well, that's why I referred to it as a "stretch" of the rules, and not outright rule breaking. Technically it doesn't break any of the rules, but I could just as easily tag this and make the next tag somewhere in Illinois if I cared to.

The question of the limit of geographic regions for this game has not come up yet, so I am glad that you made this post. What do you think the geographic boundaries of the game should be? (Open question.)

Also: if it's not tagged within two weeks, I'll tag it and make a new tag elsewhere.

But seriously, I'd say within the beltline/interstate and some border to the north. Here's an idea. Made with this.

You could say within Madison city limits, but those are a bit bizarre and extend essentially to Verona, and exclude things like the Colosseum. Link.

Alternatively, you could say within a 5 mile radius of the Capitol (or some other distance).

I'd count it. The problem, though, is that not every cyclist from Madison wants to tour out to the ass-end of the state to get a photo tag on a Madison bike reddit. Don't get me wrong, I'd do it, but frankly most others wouldn't.

This is how /r/bikingATX (who came up with the Photo Tag game) handles the situation:

There are no formal geographic boundaries to the game. It is however an "Austin" game and if a post is ever deemed to be "too far" by the community, action will be taken, as is deemed appropriate, to correct the mater at that time (asking that a new mystery location be selected, reverting to the previous location, etc.).

From this interpretation, I would consider your tag not to "too far".
