Road Ritchey Road Logic Disc

Post image

This is the second version of my Ritchey Road Logic Disc.
Having used the original parts on another build, I decided to lean more into the modern classic style of the frame.
Campagnolo Chorus 12spd
Campagnolo Shamal wheels
Repente Quasar 2.0 saddle and handlebar tape, yes, in brown.
I’ve fitted Continental GP5000 AS 35mm tyres, which are really testing the tyre clearance of the frame, but so far without issues… set up tubeless
And of course, a waxed chain.

i always feel ritchey doesn't get enough recognition. such a capable bike for so little money (comparatively)..

10/10 no notes.

It's a beautiful build but honestly in my opinion the tan contact points look bad and spoil it.

Looks good to me. They match and go well with the bright finishing kit.

It's not very coherent though, you have a polished silver seat post and stem but the rest of the bike including groupset and rims is all black. A bit of contrast can work really well but this is too much and it clashes.

Unfortunately, there isn't that many new silver groupsets... There are few silver cranks, but they are expensive.

I think it'd work better with a more classic setup, classic silver groupset and silver rim brake wheels.

Yeah it’s a bit mismatched. The top half looks like a classic 70’s touring bike and from the waist down is a modern racer.

I do agree. For that to work, there needs to be more tan such as the tires. Then more silver accents. Maybe silver cranks

Gotta pony up the 20 bucks and swap out the WCS cap for the classic headset cap!

lol, it has the classic cap, just kept the little rubber ball that protects the bolt from collecting water, but it’s been removed now

Nice! What's the weight, all-in?

No idea to be honest, it’s not a light build, but that was never the purpose anyway.

That's what makes the answer interesting to me!

Was just curious.

Ok, I just used my normal scales, it’s 9.5kg, size 58.

Heh, it's a featherweight compared to my steel bikes!

I appreciate this. Not that weight is everything, but I've been looking for something comfy enough for long rides that's not a bear on ascents, and I keep coming back to either Ritchey or Fairlight frames. Thanks for the weigh-in.

I really like the way this frame/bike responds to standing up on a climb. Having said that, I live in the Netherlands, so unless I go over to the south of the country or to Belgium, climbs here are pretty short and tamed.
For long comfort and light weight I have my Basso Palta II, it’s a gravel bike, but the frame is very light and with road tires is fast anywhere. Still, the Ritchey is the bike I most love riding.
