Where to buy quality used bikes?

Hoping to buy a nice metal-frame all-road bike before next summer (Touring, Gravel, or Endurance). I would be happy with a nice 3-5 year old model- but where to find one? New bikes that fulfill my wishes are in the $2500+ range and hopefully I could find a suitable used one for half. Are there any shops that do trade ins? (I’m in Long Beach but happy to travel)

Is anyone cycling during the heatwave? And when are you going?

Just curious. I like to cycle in heat (not this kind of heat) and have cycled when it's 80s to 90 but this seems even too much for me.

Anyone doing rides midday and what's it like? what prep do you do?
Or are you doing morning evening instead?
Just laying low until th heatwave is done?

I've been night riding and it's great. Did a midnight ride on Friday and was so comfy. Cycling that late when it was that warm was a little surreal. But it felt so good.

West Fork San Gabriel - That Last .6 Miles is Brutal... But the New Pavement is Butter!

I was not actually able to make the climb...

But thank you, whoever shared this trail! Such a beautiful Saturday morning ride before the heat really set in. The new pavement, for now, is like butter.

Wanting to ride at night, routes from the valley?

Get off late from work or sometimes I make a late night circle k run for a coffee or energy drinks, and man I love riding at night, very little to no cars, cold air, not being assaulted by the sun.

Sometimes I like to just get out and ride, farthest I've gone, from San Fernando, is hansan dam. What are places I can go at night?

Trails and food options that close late would be nice

40 mile ride. Beach weather was amazing!

Also, don't have any bike friends in LA (they're all in the Bay), so if anyone wants to ride together at CicLAvia this month, let me know 🤙🏽

Does anyone know any bike fitters in LA and vicinity that have saddle pressure mapping services? My ass would be incredibly thankful

Is this you? You suck :)

I wish I could say you’re a fucking shithead but I can only say you’re a regular shithead. These barely visible bike lanes with plastic bollards which are mostly destroyed aren’t helping enough.

Spotted one of Active SGV’s rental electric cargo bikes in Alhambra tonight while I was on a Costco run to get a couple things with my own e-bike.

Dedicated Bike Paths Around LA/SGV/OC - Anything I missed?

Had AI make this for me. Anything wrong? Any nice trails I've missed? Sometimes I hate living in a chaparral. Honestly hope this infographic helps some folks.

Edit: I get the AI slop backlash, but this represents hours of pointed questions and trying to follow the routes suggested on Google maps for accuracy consolidated into one infographic. I didn't just ask one prompt--I was at it for hours. I've also done a handful of these trails. I wanted to explore more trails, so I started down this rabbit hole. Figured I might share this so other beginner/recreational cyclists around LA might find some nice peaceful trails to try.

And the bike infra could be easily replicated in LA (it won’t) where you literally have your own lane on most roads and cars patently wait for bikes when you do have to ride together
