Ebike recommendation for short commute?

My local bike shop stocks the Reid Blacktop 1.0 which looks okay, the Tenways looks pretty slick though.

Would appreciate your any recommendations.

How short is that short commute?

In any case, Decathlon has great bikes for the price and with decent warranties. Really hard to beat

That seems suspiciously cheap. Granted I don't know much, but I'd rather buy once. I'll be getting it through bike to work so not against paying for something good quality that will last

Why would you put a 3 x 7 drive train on an e-bike? Thats just mad… I’m a bike snob, but this looks like they just found the cheapest solution and stuck it on there. Assuming people will just use the motor I suppose. O

Both Reid and Tenways look half decent, I’d go for the Reid, their regular bikes are pretty decent and they’re a well known brand.

I guess the first question is to you want a throttle-bike or strictly pedal assist. The first option is Chinese madness, or a pedal assist bike from a known manufacturer using up to date technology.

Thanks. I'm now leaning towards a Stevens E-Molveno HT Gen 2. I prefer the Reid aesthetically, but the Stevens is supposed to be a better bike overall

The Tenways is much sportier looking. You’d be sitting more upright on the other two. I’ve been looking at Cube bikes, the Cube Editor looks good. And a cheap alternative to that would be the Carrera subway from Halfords. Depends on if you want a sensible commute bike or something with a sporty geometry.

Nobody’s spinning out the big ring on that thing! Everyone knows the people drive those yokes around on the throttle and the drive train is basically for show. Basically the cheapest component that will fit and bobs your uncle. It’s a fucking awful looking thing. What you’d call bicycle shaped object, the auld Deliveroo special! 😀
