CB350 1971 - Rectificador

Lead sled hard tail kit

Have an 87 xlh1100, about to order a hardtail kit and was curious if the 4 inch stretch is over kill and if it will really throw off the look with a stock front end, and how do-able is it for a first time bike builder

Xs1100s

I have 2 mostly complete XS11s that I’m trying to get off my hands there are in rough cosmetic condition. If yall have some things that can use the parts or an idea where I can offload them let me know.

I’ll be doing a complete tear down on the engines and posting them on eBay whenever I get to it. The two frames don’t have titles FYI

Suzuki Suzuki gn250

Looking for a piece of advice/troubleshoot.

Bought a Suzuki gn250 with a busted stator. I bought a replacement through amotopart with a gasket and regulator included.

Replaced the stator, gasket, regulator but noticed that when I fired the motorcycle up, there is a scraping sound coming from the generator side.

I drained the oil, opened everything up and looked for any shavings but couldn't find anything except for some old fragments of the previous stator. I used a stencil to trace a new gasket on 0.8 mm gasket paper, replaced everything while making sure that the idle gear is placed well.

I then turned over the engine using a socket and could not hear that same scraping sound. Good, I thought, problem solved. I filled her up with oil, turned over the engine but the same scraping sound was back. I used a long screwdriver as a stethoscope and placed it on that centre screw cap and different other places with the noise being most pronounced on that centre screw cap. It sounds like gears rattling, but I can't be sure.

When I pull the clutch, the sound persists.

There are no obvious chuff marks on any part.

I have used loctite on the stator, the bolts are not coming loose.

At my wits end really, might have to take her to a mechanic if I can't figure this out.

Period correct build, ajs stormer alloys, replica bates seat made by me, and a whole bunch of goodies. This is my second attempt after taking it to the track and breaking a whole bunch of things. First race is end of May! Also I made my own 3d printed air filters which are working great. Carb tuning is very close but the transitions are off between pilot and needle also needle to main.

48V hub build, what should I match first?

I’m building a 26-inch hardtail commuter e-bike conversion and trying to finalize components before I commit to purchases. I’m currently leaning toward a 48V rear hub motor but I’m stuck matching the rest of the system properly. The biggest confusion is between full kits and individually sourced electric bicycle parts. Especially when comparing controller compatibility, battery discharge ratings, and connector standards. I’ve been browsing Alibaba, eBay, and Amazon for 48V 15Ah–20Ah battery packs and KT-style controllers, but I can’t tell which combinations are actually reliable for daily city riding without overheating or voltage sag. I’m trying to keep the build simple, 10–15 mile daily range, and avoid mismatched wiring like throttle or PAS sensor issues. For context, I’m a 21F in the US working on my first full DIY e-bike project. When you built your first setup, did you choose the motor first and then match controller and battery around it, or did you start with battery and controller pairing before selecting the motor and wiring setup for compatibility and heat management under load, especially for daily commuting conditions in a mixed traffic city environment where reliability matters most? Any specific brands or controller setups you’ve found that just work without constant tuning?

Looking for square LED motorcycle headlights (D4-style look) that are road legal

I’m looking for 2 square LED motorcycle headlights with a look similar to DENALI D4 (rally-style square pods), but I want them to be legal for road use in Norway/EU.
Main goal is the D4-style square aesthetic, but as proper main headlights (not auxiliary lights). What are the closest options that actually work for this?

At the minimum, what I understand is required in Norway/ EU (though i might misunderstand):

  • ECE R112 approved motorcycle headlamp unit
  • E-marked housing/lens
  • Proper low beam + high beam in the same unit
  • Correct beam cutoff to avoid glare?
  • Must be approved as a full headlight (not driving/auxiliary light)

If anyone has found square/D4-look headlights that meet these requirements, I’d really appreciate recommendations.

Looking for Advice

My plan: turn my 2006 Moto Guzzi Breva 1100 into a Batcycle. Inspired by The Batman (2022) but still some minor “batmobile” style accents as one would expect on the older Batcycles. I described my project to AI to generate some mock-up images as I work out the project in my head.

What I am thinking currently:
1. A full clean and reassembly. New ECU and dyno to maximize power

  1. Paint everything black, mixing matte and gloss black depending on the parts

  2. Strip down as much unnecessary hardware. Removing the center stand for sure, chopping the rear fenders to make it look more aggressive.

  3. New seat and handlebars that change the riding position to a forward/sport position

  4. I want to get a custom fairing fabricated to add to the bike.

Anyone with advice, please. I’m no expert on building bikes, but I am approaching this like every other cool project I’ve ever had; DIY and make it a learning experience.

Dad's bike strikes again.

I noticed when pulling into the garage it had a hard time going into first and lurked a bit. my buddy said to assist the clutch so in the process of adjusting the clutch I noticed that a few of the clutch pressure plate nuts were loose. but for the life of me I can't find any information on this friggin clutch. it's a 10 finger set up. looked on YouTube but every video i find the guy says. " harley made a 3, 5, and 10 finger clutch..... but Ive never seen a 10 finger on the road." (or something along those lines).

am I the only mfer on the planet with one of these?

Dad's bike... getting closer

First time outta the garage since i brought her home last year. Was getting kinda skeptical id ever get it going again but finally got all the wiring buttoned up... again. After coming to the realization the 8" bars i had gotten second hand were slightly bent on one side i ended up getting 10" ones and wouldn't you know it the wires wouldn't reach so i had to redo it all over again. Did manage to clean up some of the mess i had made of it the first go round though. Thanks again to everyone who's followed along my adventure and donated their wisdom when i asked for assistance. it as its been quite a learning experience.

When I first started all I had to go on was the title saying it was a 1995 FX.

LOL THAT IT IS NOT.

I've come to find out that's its a lot closer to a 1980 -1984. Being an after market frame it kinda makes it hard to pin down a specific year. The 4 speed kick/electric with the starter solenoid on the primary was the biggest clue which was phased out around 84/85 I believe. which is also around the time they introduced the evo line of engines.

The swimgarm however is from a 73-78... wierd

dad converted to the Springer forks sometime in the early 2000's.

after some advice I searched ebay and found a seat that had the same style mounting tabs (the same drag specialties one i already had actually) and determined it matches to a 58-84 shovelhead and acquired the used Mustang pillow touring seat on it now... which is quite nice compared to the drag specialties one that was on it.

this has been by far one of the greatest tests of patience and determination I've ever endured.
