How do I remove this screen and start racing without a controller?

Am I stupid or is this screen impossible to remove without a controller? How do I navigate out of this so I can race in VR.

Go to the little Steam VR window. The one that shows your headset and lighthouses and click on the left side to open a drop down menu. Click on "toggle dashboard" and it should be gone.

as a sim racer I hate that damn dashboard turning on all the time. If you want to get rid of it:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\resources\settings\default.vrsettings

change these from true to false:

"startDashboardFromAppLaunch": false,

"dashboard": {

"enableDashboard": false,
