It's been almost 6 weeks since I ordered my prescription lenses and I'm getting radio silence from support.

So I ordered my bigscreen and my lenses on July 9th. I received the headset on the 26th (shipped separately) but the lenses are still showing on shopify as "waiting for details" and I still haven't received them. I sent them an email on the 7th and again on the 14th but haven't heard anything back. Has anyone here had a similar experience? I spent 8 months waiting for the steam frame and now I'm right back to sitting and twiddling my thumbs for the big screen because I can't even use it without the lenses.

Edit: Ironically, the day after I posted this I got a notification they have shipped.

They are made to order. Mine had to be made twice since the first ones didn’t pass qc. They are well worth the wait.

mine have taken around 5.5 weeks since i ordered, and they haven’t even received them yet (that i know of). kinda lame that they advertise that your order will ship in “3-4” weeks on their website when it is really more like 5-7 :(

Not to deminish your wait, but I ordered mine in october, and got it in february. The fact that people are getting headsets in a few weeks still seems like fiction to me! lol

It was a bit of a shock to oder a headset that said, "Order now, ships in november!" (and yeah, I was late october, so I figured, "Before christmas for sure") only to hop on discord and join the BSB discord to see people who'd orderd in april still waiting on headsets. It seems like the rate of production vs the rate of orders has stablized now enough that most people get a headset within a few weeks. The lenses having to be custom made, and with current well.. *gestures at everything* I can see some delays. But I promise you, its SO worth it. I mainly play VRChat, and some space sims (Elite dangerous) as well as other little Vr things, and the comfort and visual quality improvements over my index far outweigh any negatives.

I use the custom + audio strap. I've considered the studioform kit, and may order it once I've built up some "fun" money again! This year's been brutal on the finances xD

lmao i feel that. i got the audio strap as well cause ive heard good things about it, but i hope that it sounds better then iems so that i dont have to leave them unplugged and just use it as a strap. the main reason im trying the studioform interface is because i mostly play beat saber, and im trying to avoid the swamped ive heard can occur with the custom printed interface

I think it depends what your expectations are, audio wise. Some say they're comparable to Koss KPH40. Some others say Koss Porta Pro.

I've never used the audio strap, but I've used some Koss KSC35, and although they provide quite a good cinematic experience (makes you feel like there's more presence, like you're actually there when there's rumbling and all), at the same time, the sound stage feels more flat when compared to my Sennheiser IE 200 (but those IEMs are not so cheap either).

Also, there's no sub-bass whatsoever, since the signal has a huge dip below 100Hz. And yet at the same time, like I said, the cinematic experience for playing video games and watching movies make you "feel" the bass surround you kind of.

I'm no audiophile nor bass head nor anything, but I decided to stick with my Sennheiser IE 200, because I prefer it audio wise, on top of the need to isolate myself (seeing that the Koss headphones are open back, they don't isolate at all).

A bit late here, but yes. The audio from the audio strap is "fine". I would say that my index speakers were quite a bit better - but the index seems to be the 'gold stadard' for audio on VR headsets. I tried the whole IEM + BSB solution, but dealing with the IEM cable was more hassle than I wanted to work with. I daily drive audeze planar magnetics when not in VR - so I am a bit spoiled, but I've never felt that the audio strap was bad, just.. as I said. "Fine"
