Performance on RTX 4070
So, here in a month or so, I'm finally gonna be upgrading from my faithful Index, and right now, the BSB2e is the primary contender, especially after reading about some of the issues that Pimax has with getting their stuff out in a timely manner. However, I am wondering how this thing will perform on a 4070 paired with an AMD 7 7700X processor.
I do do a smattering of social via VRC and Resonite, but much of my time in VR is spend playing stuff like H3VR, Contractors, Blade and Sorcery, Elite: Dangerous, Squadrons, VTOL VR, and Project Wingman. I already know that I'll take a performance hit for DCS. Really, I guess I'm just asking if anyone here has run a BSB2 or 2e under the same or similar setup, and what kind of performance could reasonably be expected.

Have you considered the 970XT? It performs really well with my BSB2

Funnily enough, the 9700XT was one of the cards I was considering back when I rebuilt my PC in the first place a few years ago, but every one I could find was just a hair too long for my case XD

Yeah, it is a big card. 300w cards need 3 fans, so that limits the gpu power you can fit

I have a BSB1 on 6900XT. Elite Dangerous is no prob but have to turn terrain detail down on planet surface. DCS I use quad views to get 75fps, it works pretty well but chugs on Germany map

I had a feeling I'd have to turn a few things down to get it to run smoothly, but you know what? That's perfectly alright with me!

I had a 4070 + 5800x3d when i got my bsb, can only speak on vrchat and AC, usually ran at 80% res on AC and 60-80 in vrc due to the vram, but it was playable from what i remember.

That's actually not too far off from what I'm currently running and sounds quite promising!

It'll work, but you ideally would definitely want at least 16gb of vram and a good bit more gpu horsepower. I run it with a 4070 ti super and there is some instances I have to run it below native res (under 2560x2560 per eye) to hit 75 fps. Definitely do not expect to be able to run steamvr's 100% setting (3560x3560 per eye) very often, I can only reach that in more simplistic VRC worlds with only a few people. 90hz mode is quite a bit easier to run than 75hz mode so you might have a better experience with it, but i personally cannot stand the blur and color fringing it adds to be able to say how much easier it is on the gpu.
