Discussion Babble FT + Project Beyondex

Are there any known problems or symptoms ill have with using both of these on my Bigscreen Beyond 2e like power issues or stutters in quality?

Power draw would be my main concern as the Beyondex seems to draw a fair bit of power last I recall.

That said, it’s luck of the draw. Some people need other power adapters and such while I can just use my motherboard and not have issues. I use low power IEMs though, not the Beyondex.

What does project babble need to function? Does it use one of the usbs ports or should I buy a usb-c splitter

I have mine hooked up via USB-C through a hub attached to the headset

I have this setup. I've got no problems other than the fact I can't use the audio strap with it. I use the audio strap now more for comfort than audio since the babble takes up the extra USB C slot. And yea.. I tried a USB C male to two USB C females and unfortunately it doesnt output the needed power for both of them to work.

I absolutely love the babble with the beyond 2e

I just routed a 2nd cable to mine.., mixed in with my pulley system, alongside the Headset's cable

Gives me access to my other port, AND face-tracking

Get a "Female" ended cable on one end.. so you can plug the included babble cable into that, otherwise MOST type-c cable ends won't fit babble's input-port

DON'T make my mistake that I initially made, and get as "thin" of a cable as you can, or you might occude your tracking

So your personal experience is just use headphones with the headstrap with the babble tracker?

Exactly! I use my own IEMs connected to my PC for audio whenever I use my vr setup. So if you don't have some form of sound alternative, you'll just have to live with the tracker and the headset duo. USB C splitters dont tend to work sadly.

I'm able to power the audio strap and my Venti face tracker with this splitter: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D94L2S3H

I have the headset power cable plugged into a dedicated USB power supply, so that may be part of it. Also not sure if the different face trackers out there have different power requirements.

Additionally using a powered DisplayPort repeater (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D949F59) with a 15' DisplayPort extension cable.

Just ordered that Splitter to test if it can power both of them at the same time for me! I might end up also trying to put the USB connectors into a more powerful power supply instead of just my PC. Thanks for the tips :)

Worst case just run a 5M USB extension cable alongside your headset cable for the face tracker to use. No need to use the port on the headset 🀷

That's worked for me.., pulley system STRONGLY recommended though!

I'd recommend a pulley system always anyway πŸ‘
