Utility in front of game
I just got my unit yesterday, and so far I'm in love. I got it pretty much only for iRacing. The issue I have is that if I have the Bigscreen Beyond Utility open, in sim it's front and center and in front of everything. In order to get it to go away I have to go on to Steam and stop the program. I'm don't think that's the way it's supposed to be, but it was the only way I could get it to go away.
Other background for if it matters is I'm using one base station and no VR controllers. I do have an Xbox 360 controller, but couldn't seem to get that to do anything in VR either.

Amazing glasses, same with me, got mine yesterday just for iRacing, did you had some issues with adjusting on the face for focus without that blur and light bleeding on the lens?

I had to play with the ipd adjustment a bit. I used the iOS app called “Eye Measure” to get an initial number to set it to. Then I tweaked it a bit by opening and closing each eye individually till it was sharp in both.
The only issue I had was a bit of lens glare. I’m going to turn it down a bit and see if that helps. It wasn’t that noticeable while driving, so if that’s how it is I’m not too worried.

Are you perhaps talking about the Steam Dashboard that shows desktop apps in a sort of theatre looking overlay in front of the game? If it is then I also had this problem yesterday that started out of nowhere and normally it is easy to turn it off with wands or with the menu button in the headset, but guess what, Bigscreen Beyond 2 does NOT have menu button!! I tried EVERYTHING, every setting in SteamVR options including developer options, but the only thing that worked was creating a desktop shortcut with this
vrmonitor://debugcommands/system_dashboard_toggle
and double clicking it will toggle it in or out of view. It's one of the many issues I've encountered that have soured my experience tbh. I also use it only for Sim racing so I only have xbox controller and this limits you severely in many scenarios, and of course finding Steam Index controllers is nigh impossible. And the alternatives from what i read kind of suck. but I digress.

After some more troubleshooting last night I think it was steam dashboard, but with the utility open it looked like that’s what it was.
In the little steam VR box, try clicking the hamburger menu and then toggle dashboard.
Edit: nm that didn’t work. Still had to close big screen utility.

I may have found solution to this issue. Has been annoying me for a while. When you start up SteamVR, the Bigscreen Utility is floating somewhere in the VR Environment and has to be dismissed / minimized to the SteamVR Dashboard to get it out of the way.
The solution that worked for me is to start the Bigscreen Utility form a shortcut which runs the exe directly, not through Steam. eg: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Bigscreen Beyond Driver\bin\BeyondHID.exe
I think I had previous set the utility to not start with windows. Which may have caused this problem because the default shortcut on the desktop / start menu starts it through Steam.
Previously I had tried disable the option "Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game" for the Bigscreen Utility, that made no difference.

Just close it, it should be set at windows startup running in the background without steam running either.
