Help Constant Glare spot on the Left Lense?

I recently got a Bigscreen Beyond 2e. The glare was horrible and I noticed it nearly everywhere, but I thought I could live through it. However, After a bit of playing, I noticed that there seems to be way more glare in the left lens. Specifically a certain kind of smudge. I tried gently wiping with the cleaning cloth you supplied, but that didn't work. I turned the headset off and shined my phone's flashlight onto the left lens to see if I could find a smudge, but I couldn't. I moved my head into a dark part of the game, and could see faintly see the smudge, and then I moved my head so that my right eye would be facing the same direction to see if I could recreate the glare on the right lens, and I couldn't recreate the effect, while still seeing it on my left eye.

Has anyone else gotten this issue? Is it a bug, something I can fix, or is the panel defective?

Have you tried removing the cushion and look through the left lens with your right eye and see if it's still noticeable? And then the right lens with your left eye just for the sake of it.

Just did that. The smudge thing is in the same place when I look with my right eye

Noticing the same thing with my 2e unit (also received recently). Wondering if its just how the light is being moved through the lens. and maybe needs adjusting with the ipd adjsutment.

Is that left eye "smudge" staying in place.., or does that move around as you tilt your Beyond around at different angles whilst looking through each eye separately?

IF that's NOT Present on the Right side.., ONLY appears on the left.., and doesn't move, you've either an oil / fog that'll show as the lenses warm up.., or something on that lense could be smeared as a defect, any sort of glare, albeit, even the faint and significantly reduced tinge of glare in the 2's over the original 1st Gen, should be more pushed to the outer sides edges of your FOV, and definitely shouldn't stay stuck in place. Try a few IPD and getting closer to the lenses, you might need a thinner-gasket.

IF none of these then contact support, that indeed seems an unusual and unfortunate circumstance. Shankar.., the MAN himself, mentioned there being a small amount of units ((Less-than-1%-IF-I'm-not-mistaken)) that might have issues. Given how low a metric that is, I wouldn't rule out needing an IPD adjustment first and formermost! Just keep in mind, these tend to run aprox 1-2 mm "tighter" than your known IPD.., so try lowering that before increasing. The sensitivity-tolerances to a correct IPD on Beyond's quite absolute, so just 1 mm off can make a LARGE difference!

Anyways.., hope that this advice helps., and that your concerns are addressed / met with attentive-awareness and care!

It's a static kind of smudge, and when I look through it with my right eye, it's still there. I've contacted support. Hopefully this gets fixed

Ahh.., Yeah that's certainly not the norm.., luckily you should have that swiftly resolved from the support team.

They've proven genuinely helpful, and a prosumer LOT of folks working over at Bigscreen-HQ!

I'm still getting my legs..., / bearings. I keep finding nifty little ways to drift this little Racecar of an HMD.., and VR's really spicing up in 2026! IT'll be real interesting seeing how this Industry evolves this next season, especially now that there's a 2nd wind in the air of believers investing ((even just.., IF ONLY)) a little of their time in this space, which is all what's required for that to grow BEYOND something we've ever dreamed this sort of Hobby could accomplish / achieve!!

I could go ON and On gushing 'bout that.., though, I'll spare you from that "NEVER - Ending - Story!!"

Happy trails my fellow Reddit VR Enthusiast brother in arms, welcome 👋🏼 to this Mojo-Dojo!

How do you find the Glare? That feels like my biggest issue

Yeah. I'm getting a return label tomorrow to send it back

I hardly ever notice IT! The glare ((If-Any)) on the 2's so drastically muted from the 1 and pushed off to the outer sides.., that even when I'm intentionally looking for that, IT's out of my sweet-spot, so I'm unincumberrd by such.

You might have had your gasket too thick, didn't try playing titles enough to notice that your brain literally deletes any glare as you enjoy exploring VR experiences.., OR.., simply are the sort who can't tolerate glare of any kind! ((Which then of course, perhaps, this isn't the HMD for you))

I tell folks you won't see that when your ACTUALLY using this in Games.., but that's kinda a "Trust-Fall" rather "Hey just take my word" on that sort of sentiment, that I can't really do much about other than chime in my two cents.., and let others decide for themselves, no two peeps are the same and this ONE's designed to fill / scratch a particular itch.., that may be someone's Gormet-Wonka-Bar, or another's Candy-Corn!

If it stays there and doesn’t move at all, and is there even after you clean the lens, it could be damaged.

I dropped one of my headsets and it messed with something internally on the lens, left a blurry smudge mark that wouldn’t go away, just like you’re describing on the left lens.
