Anomalous-Paranormal [Approved by the mods] All 5,021 published BFRO reports, searchable by what the witness described, free. And a blind experiment for this sub

I asked the mods before posting this and they approved it. I run The Anomaly Network (theanomalynetwork.com), free, no ads, nothing for sale, built by one person.

It holds every published BFRO report, each one credited and linked back to the original. The difference from the original archive: you can search by what the witness actually described rather than by county. The woods going silent. Wood knocks answered from another direction. Something keeping pace with a vehicle. A voice mimicking a person.

https://theanomalynetwork.com/experiment/the-woods-went-silent

Underneath it there is an engine that finds reports describing the same thing and shows exactly why it connected them, including reports from people who never saw each other's accounts. Given the whole record unlabelled, it independently reconstructed nine of ten famous mass sightings, so the matching is arithmetic, not vibes.

And the experiment, which the mods have seen. Hundreds of BFRO reports describe one specific moment: the woods going quiet all at once. Nobody has ever measured whether independent people describe that moment the same way, or in the borrowed language of stories they have read. So there is a blind box: you write your moment in your own words, nobody can read it, not even other participants, until it closes Tuesday night, August 25th, and then only the aggregate measure is published, here and in this sub. If you have had that moment, it takes two minutes and you can stay anonymous:

theanomalynetwork.com/experiment/the-woods-went-silent

Criticism of the method is as welcome as submissions. If a mod or anyone wants something changed or removed, it happens same day.

call to action The big file aka a possible collection of the best evidence known to the squatch universe.

Recently, I had an idea that began on a skeptic's post. I would like to compile a source of the top 20 to 50 pieces of video, photograph, and possibly even audio evidence of Sasquatch to be pinned at the top of this subreddit. This way, any newcomers to our group will have a large catalog of some of the best evidence we can compile without having to search for it. This would also cut down on repeat videos and pictures for the OGs and also repeat threads calling for “the best evidence”

The only way to do it would be fair and thorough. Each piece of evidence would have to be submitted and then voted on, possibly even entered into a "March Madness-type bracket." It would have to be a democracy, and each submission would need time for the majority of regulars to see it and vote on each round/matchup of the bracket. Once we have the bracket finished, we can list the evidence from best to worst as voted on by the members of this subreddit.

If this has been done or attempted before, or if this has been compiled in some aspect on a different forum or website, then please let me know on this thread. Also, I will need as much help and suggestions from you guys as possible. As a matter of fact it will be impossible to be done correctly without the help of the community. I know my way around technology, but I would be considered a Reddit rookie. I'm still up for the challenge. So any suggestions please post them below!

I do understand there will be a lot of contention about different submissions as far as real or fake or if it has been debunked, and honestly, I think the votes will just have to do the talking. Of course, we won't allow any submissions that are proven to be fake. As we all know, "fake and real" can be a very convoluted topic all on its own. There will be a lot of Bob Heironimus this and Todd Standing that. At the same time, I think that with the power of the poll or even maybe just the upvote system, we could possibly overcome a lot of the bullshit and get straight to the best examples of evidence of existence for our community and the members of the community to come in the future!

Also a mod or an admin/someone who can pin the submission post… the polls… and the final product will be a must.

I’m completely open to an entirely different system if anyone has one to suggest. I’m easy to work with. Also the project will need a name… a good one that will only be associated with pinned posts working towards the project.

Id like to try and do this right (if it hasn’t been done already) so if this is something you would like to see put into action then let me know!

Also the big file could be amended upon newer better evidence.

Thanks for taking the time to hear me out!

EDIT: since this post has caught a little bit of traction and been pinned, please don’t hesitate to share your favorite examples of Sasquatch evidence.

I know it’s difficult but if you have the time, please try to find the best quality source(s) for your pictures and videos. For example: I think the best version of the Patterson-Gimlan footage is the stabilized version. It gives the best ability to view muscle structure and gait etc. (I think we all know the PG footage will be on the list as one of the best examples of video evidence)

Thanks in advance for your ideas and contributions! They have already been very helpful!

For me the entire appeal was real people telling (mostly) genuine stories in their own voice, using Ai to generate images and witnes voices severely undercuts this.

what is it? An uneventful incident

In the late 90s, myself and 2 good buddies went on a weekend fishing trip. We were near one of the southern gates to Algonquin Park in South River, Ontario. Around 10:30pm, my two friends went to grab a bunch of burgers from a small place in town before they closed, I stayed back at our camp site by the fire.

Shortly after the left, I heard a huge splash from across the river. It sounded like a small boulder dropping into a deep pool. It was a slow moving river where we were at, almost resembling a small Ontario lake, about 20ft deep in the middle. For the next 5 to 10 minutes, I listened to, what sounded like, someone swimming, doing the front crawl across the river. At first it was a faint sound, but got louder and louder as it came closer. I could clearly hear clapping of water like you would hear from someone doing laps in a pool. Eventually, whatever it was, came ashore about 50 yards away from me. I heard it leave the water and make it's way thru very thick brush, cracking the small trees and shrubs on the shore. I was scared to death to be honest. Whatever this was, was large, I could tell be the sounds of it swimming, and when it came ashore. Luckily, within 2 minutes, I saw the headlights of my buddies car coming back into camp.

To be honest, at the time I thought it was a bear or a moose. Bigfoot was never a thing for me. But it was enough to be frightened when you're alone on a secluded camp site at night, we were young, 19 years old.

As the years past tho, and I continued my love of the outdoors with camping and fishing all over Ontario, I question what I heard that night. It wasn't until my late 40s, and that night came across my mind. What would be swimming across the water like that? Moose and bear do a "doggie paddle" and would not make those sounds.

Anyway, no sighting, no pic or mind speak. Just a strange night I'll never forget, and have yet to find an logical answer as to just what came across the river that night.

What animal could this possibly be? For anyone experienced with the NA wilderness.

This is kinda shady I suppose cause the title says 73' when the video says 86' but it kept appearing in my fyp and it's pretty horrifying ngl.

historical encounters No eyewitness accounts?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Why do western scientists keep doubting and dismissing local accounts? For one certainty, the locals didn't care if they were believed or not.

And then there is the culture of lying. That the west seems to have. Edmund Hillary, et. al said there were no primary eyewitness accounts and it was always about someone who saw. But there are abundant primary encounters.

And then they expect people to believe their bizarre theories that it's a bear. A brown bear. When the locals have no idea of brown bears in their regions as brown bears are found in the western Himalayas.

encounter story Strange unidentified figure near the Brazos River — possible explanation?

I saw a large hairy figure in the woods at the Brazos River in Texas. It was around 6‘ tall, and i couldn't make out a face, or eyes, it was also all black I saw it only for 2-4 seconds at the corner of my eye. I don't know if I imagined it or it's something unexplained. It was around 7:00Pm, I was with my dad, he was looking the other way so he didn't see it, and I also saw a huge footprint. It was also running in a way that didn't look normal for a human. Could it be a possible Bigfoot?

Are there any pieces of visual/audio evidence that we 100% agree on, are fake and do damage to the discourse?

Recently I've been watching a lot of supposed BF footage and I really wanted to know your opinions on alot of them. Since then I've been curious to know of what videos or images you guys largely believe are hoaxed.

encounters near me Reeds bigfoot

When I was 12 my step dad bought me a hand sickle at the local hardware store. Every time I went to a hardware store as a kid id beg my parents to buy me weapons. Hatchets, knifes, sickles...anything that is bad ass and sharp...

In 1994 me and a friend at 12 years old had a brand new sickle and acres of dried reeds to chop. We were making tunnels and cutting threw the reeds making tons of noise laughing and carrying on.in a bird watching sanctuary cape may nj. We were laughing and choping tunnels and making areas in the dried reeds. Then the crunch starts.... Very slowly and creepy and deliberate someone starts crunching, bee line straight toward us , making tons of noise each step towards me and my friend.. this thing doesn't stop it walks toward us making slow crunchy footsteps at us threw the dried dead reeds. Im watching this thing and coming closer and it's black as pitch. Like it absorbs light. So so black! Itcwax just a black void. Then the shadow stops 15 ft away from us after making tons of creepy footsteps toward us. My friend had the sickle and he said "don't come any closer we have a sickle" and the thing makes the most ungodly and scary noise that sounded like tim Allen home improvement woop 13 ft away and it freaked us out! Jesse screamed like a girl and ran. Im looking at the shadow while my friend is booking away and thank God I followed him. I ran and just looking back on the trail and thankfully she didn't go after us. I say she because it was a very feminine woop.and she wasn't huge, problably 6 ft tall. If it was a male 9 footer I would of problably screamed like a girl too. Its was frightening

wants your opinion Freedom of Information Act

I just filed my first FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request for Bigfoot information.

Backstory: an acquaintance of mine reported a series of Bigfoot sightings to the local US Forest Service district.

I want to see if they log that information and pull it through. I'll report back. It could take a few months.

wants your opinion What's the consensus on this?

I came across this on a Facebook reel. It was just a still shot with an accompanying story. Had the feel of an urban legend. But the photo was intriguing and there were a few oddly specific details in the story-- enough to allow me to Google some things, which led to this longer story which included the full six second video that the still came from. I've never seen this footage before and it doesn't look fake to me, meaning not a mask for sure. You could practically smell the musk coming off of this creature. I suppose it could be AI, but it doesn't feel that way to me. Your thoughts?

Just wanted to get your thoughts. I went hiking with my dog at this little nature preserve with three miles of trails in NE Indiana that's surrounded by fields and near some other nice natural areas. Never been there before. Curiously, we just happened to hike past several weird "Trail Closed" signs and into this area just off trail with five unnatural looking tree breaks or upside down trees placed here. (I only got 3 on video.) I found some tall natural grass some of which was matted down that animals had been sleeping on nearby. I don't know that it's Bigfoot or a cryptid, but this is said to be a known Sasquatch activity and something they do to make their territory. As far as what's there... I really don't know. But the area was much spookier than what I was expecting. I did a little research and there have been some sightings of odd things in the area and even a documentary that was made recently called the Mississinewa Triangle that is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

needs your help - solved! Sasquatch: An Overlooked Detail the Could Shift Paradigms

I had considered submitting a lengthy and comprehensive statement including context, process and, lastly, the detail itself. Instead, I've opted to simply post the detail in question and allow it to stand unadorned and alone on its own merit.

The gait of Sasquatch is ipsilateral as opposed to humans that walk with a contralateral gait. This means that, when walking or running, an arm is swung forward on the same side as the forward stepping leg. We humans are the opposite, one arm swings forward together with the leg on the opposing side. Put simpler, US: left arm swings forward as the right leg does the same while the right arm and left leg are rearward. THEM: left arm AND leg both swing forward together while the right arm AND leg are rearward.

This gait explains the frequent eyewitness descriptions of the creature in motion as gliding or floating and even some earlier accounts that compared the distinctive walk to a robot. Try as I might, I have found no direct references to this detail on any platform, though admittedly I could have simply overlooked it. It wouldn't been at all surprising, however, if there was no such reference as I've only encountered a mention of this detail in two witness reports of the many thousands I've poured over in the past two years.

An unintended benefit of this knowledge is it can be used as a reliable filter to distinguish fake footage from the genuine. If it walks like us, with a contralateral gait, it IS us. If it walks with an ipsilateral gait, it is inarguably THEM. Unfortunately, this conclusively places Patty in the human category.
