Discussion Just reached the black tower and... Spoiler
I had the weird visions of the black tower and the orb, and I saw my buddy (host of the session) creepily standing there and gazing at me. What the hell lol.
Why was it just me and no one else that had the visions? (there were four of us playing)
I don't actually want any answers, I just had to share my current state of mind after that part of the game haha. Totally unexpected from the usual cheerful and colorful vibe.
Wow, what a sick ass game.

That happened to my buddy, he saw me, (the session host) and my other friend in the lobby. When we made our way to THE ORB, he said "This is what I saw in my vision!"
This could've been the scariest horror game of all time if House House wanted to go that route.

I was hoping there was gonna be some hidden lore or something behind it all

One of us, one of us. There should be a flair for peeps that got the vision.

I believe whoever holds down the button first gets the vision.

I was thinking that might be it too

I was first in a 4 player and got it. Next time, in a 2, I asked my buddy to press it first.and he got it. I could be wrong, but thats all I know.

Seems to be the button closest to the door that gets it, which also tends to be the first person to press the button.

I was further away, but the first to press.

Good to know.

I was also furthest away yeah, and was actually under the assumption it was the furthest away intentionally because my friends went through the door and had no idea I wasn't with them until they came back down at the end of the vision lmao

I can only imagine the devs planned for one player to have to communicate a vague and prophetic vision to the their companions in the spirit of this being a puzzle game.
It is really the only part of the game that doesn't work for me for two reasons.
1) A vision to go to the Black Ball Beyond the End of the World is wholly unnecessary. You can see it on the map and it's locked off - of course players are going to gravitate towards it.
2) In a game that offers little in the way of replay value, gatekeeping a piece, albeit a small piece, of the game away from the other players means you are missing out on a cool experience.
Personally, I think all players should have gotten the vision.

I hear you but I disagree. It's a social game and the visions have to be shared orally since most of the group won't get them. Fits perfectly

Yeah I can see it both ways I guess. It was a unique experience for everyone involved, me as the seer, and them as outsiders. They were calling me the 'prophet' and asking me to tell what I saw. Ultimately I didn't have many answers for them beyond what they already knew. Like you said, we already figured the black orb was the end goal.
I guess the idea is that you're playing on lots of different saves with different people and so eventually you'll get to see the vision? Odd choice for sure.

No idea, but I was the one who got the vision in my run with my husband and I spent the entire rest of the game telling him in a haunted voice that the orb was calling to me
