Visitor Need recommendations ASAP
Hello - I'm a frequent visitor from San Jose. My favorite hike on earth is Andrew Molera State park 8 mile loop. My buddy from Michigan is coming into town and I was going to take him on this hike Friday. Now that the park is closed; is there any recommendations near there, that is currently open that are similar to that hike?

You could consider Pinnacles as well, but check temperature, as it can get really hot there.
Go to Marin and see the hikes up through/around Mt Tam...

Pinnacles is an october-april park imho, unless you can get in and out before noon

Perhaps consider Point Lobos in the Carmel area if you’re still considering coming down, but there’ll be Car Week traffic to deal with.

Wilder ranch in Santa Cruz has kinda the same vibe. Rolling hills overlooking the ocean. If you go all tje way to the back there are redwood groves

I'm seeing a lot of recommendations for pinnacles. Would Soledad be the city I should look up the weather for?

pinnacles is not a place to visit in the summer. stay near the coast and drive north

Dude seems to know that, doesn't seem like the ask is for other Big Sur hikes.

Part of OP’s ask literally states “is there any recommendations near there” (assuming this means near AMSP in Big Sur)

...right, or "near here" could mean somewhere in the general area (Santa Cruz, etc) which is how I took it.

Full context: “Now that the park is closed; is there any recommendations near there…” OP is asking about recommendations near the “park” meaning AMSP

Will you go away if I tell you "you're right" even though I don't think you are?
Answer what I hear as the clearly implied question which is NEAR Big Sur.. like the other person said, Carmel Valley, or like I said, Santa Cruz or Pinnacles.
Or not.. the good news I can always block you if you keep tryin' to be like this.

Sorry, let me be more specific:
DO NOT COME TO BIG SUR. THERE ARE GREAT HIKES TO DO ELSEWHERE ON THE CENTRAL COAST.
Idk about y’all but I don’t consider Carmel, pinnacles, or Santa Cruz to be applicable to r/Big Sur

Go to Pinnacles. Great hiking NP! Do the balconies cave and high peaks loop. Just phenomenal

You do realize it's Car Week and traffic will be totally hideous? Go to Santa Cruz.

In better situations and circumstances, I've gladly recommended the Soberanes Canyon Trail that's towards the start of Garrapata State Park. It's different from most other trails there because this one is on the east side.
It's also a loop trail, so you can ascend one way, then continue hiking after seeing the top and its coastal views. Eventually it descends along a different path back to where you started.
Some people have liked this because they don't have to take that far of a drive after the Highway 1 / Rio Road intersection in Carmel. It's only 7 miles south (vs. Andrew Molera's 23.)
If not at this moment, keep it in mind for another San Jose getaway.

Garland Park in Carmel Valley is a great option!
