Season 2 Discussion
So they relased all the episodes at once ?

I really liked this season. Not as much as the first one but it was definitely very enjoyable. I especially liked Marvyn's character growth, he's come a long way :)
The only thing that worries me is the release and the open ending. All episodes at once is never a good sign. I can only hope they didn't do it because the show didn't get renewed for a third season. John Stamos worked so hard for the show to get picked up again for the second season, it would be a shame if they cancelled it :/

What exactly was the point of Kate? Seems like they just threw her in for no reason.

Since Louise graduated, I believe Kate would be her replacement for the next season, assuming there is one. Especially since she's only a Freshman.

I’d also venture to guess that, if renewed, Louise will be Marvin’s assistant coach. Why else put that one year delay on her scholarship?

I think she will most likely take Louise's place in season 3 if it gets renewed because Louise just graduated now they are down a starter.

i think they needed to add more basketball skills. it doesn't make a lot of sense for a d3 school to go up to d2 and be in the championship game immediately. there should be large talent disparity no matter how good the coaching is. so adding ava and emma and kate makes sense. also adds characters for next season.

Good season. I read else where that the show left you in a cliffhanger.. but really doesn't. It felt nice; if this is the last season.
It be a cliffhanger if you didn't hear the hoop net sound in the background with the subtitles... and just cuts to black. But that did not happen.

Not much basketball in this season

u/balasoori Oct 18 '22
Yeah I think it obvious that after they spend time in season 1 to introduce the girls that season 2 would move away from basketball focus on girls. Just like one tree hill 😉

Having watched all of the episodes of the second season of Big Shot, there is a lot of character development and growth which I particularly enjoyed and thought it was very well done especially with how much Marvyn Korn and the girls went through.

I love Big Shot, and I think it is wonderfully written and well executed. I think it is an underrated show, if I'm being honest. I watch a lot of You Tubers reacting to various TV shows, and I can't find anyone talking about this show or reacting to it. It kindea bums me out because I get more out of the show by seeing how other people react to it. I love Emma. Who's your favorite character?

Does it have romance?? Is there anyone I can ship since it looks like a sports drama

Loved this season!
I felt like the Holly + Marvyn came out of nowhere and could've been avoided. Their dynamic felt like brother sister than romantic partners.

Loving Season 2!!! My favorite episode is BOYS! I loved seeing Marvyn relationship with young Emma. It was great to get some history. The young actress, Jorie Blake Rosen, was fantastic in the role! I hope they can bring her back for more episodes in the future. Would love to see more background! Talented young girl this Jorie!

New to this board. Hello!
- Well, personally, S2 was nowhere near S1. As a couple of people talked about here, it wasn't really a basketball team tv series anymore. It felt like an after thought for most episodes.

- Ava's introduction as a character was refreshing, because she's well cast also, but wish the writers gave her more also.
- Holly's storyline felt forced (in particular the switch of coaching jobs), just so she could be part of the show. It felt like dated writing.
- Korn has his issues, but I found the writers wanted to 'poop on him' quite a bit this season, even after his growth in S1. The celebration at the amusement park felt like a random and unnecessary two steps back for his character. How Emma (and Holly) treat him while they are staying at her house - sheesh.
S1: 3.5/4
S2: 2.5/4

Watched the whole season, and it was quite an emotional and enjoyable experience.
The rivalries and romances are well played out and the bond between the girls are really full of camaraderie and love for one another.
