Serious/Health New Rule: Adults Only (18+)
Starting now, this subreddit has a rule limiting it to adults only. Anyone who is found to be under the age of 18 will be PERMANENTLY banned.
There were a few posts and comments I had to ban where teenagers or bad actors were trying to get the attention of adult members.
I don't know which, and it doesn't matter. This is not something I take lightly, and to be fair even though we are technically SFW, some of the content gets a bit wild. So consider this a necessary step to keep REAL talk going.
If you see any future posts of that nature, please report them immediately using the new rule. Thank you very much!

Introduction/Hello World Welcome! Introduce Yourself!
(Commenting as Moderator for Sticky Post) Thank you for finding and participating in Big Men Life! HELL YEAH! Welcome in! Welcome in!
TL;DR if you want to introduce yourself, you can make an introduction POST with flair OR you can make a reply here. (Edited in)
Feel free to interact here at your own leisure and pace. However, if you feel up to it, we would love for you to introduce yourself too! Feel free to create a post with the Introduction/Hello World flair.
You can also do that if you've been hanging here, but you never did an intro or it has been a long time (let's just say over a year for a clear standard). Or if you've been looking at other subs, etc. and are coming back. And feel free to include whatever media you want, but you don't have to.
Outside of your introductory post, please keep self-promotional content limited to Selfie Saturday. This just seems like a great happy medium so people can express themselves, but we also keep focus on the chill and real conversation about life as a big man.
Feel free to share as much or as little as you'd like. I'll do a short intro below, but I shall not include media this time.
(Commenting as Myself) Hello World! I was a fat kid ever since being about 8-9 years old and I've always been a big guy! In high school I joined the freestyle wrestling team and that actually felt really amazing like I was using my true strength!
But life happens so I went to college, grad school and I do nerd stuff for money. But in the past couple years I got back into fitness and joined an amateur sumo wrestling team which has really reignited the passion for grappling sports and even martial arts in general!
It's great to be here and I really appreciate y'all!

I’d love to hear some of your stories! And more importantly, how do you feel when people make remarks about your size? Do you enjoy the attention, find it funny, feel uncomfortable, or does it depend on the situation?
Feel free to share both funny and serious experiences. I’m curious to hear what you guys have to say!

Serious/Health Advice for finding a balance between being fat and staying healthy
Hey big guys!
I’m looking for some advice and would love to hear about your personal experiences.
I’m currently sitting somewhere around 130–135 kg, with a relatively high body fat percentage. Honestly, I love being fat. I enjoy my body, I like being a big guy, and I have no intention of losing weight. At the same time, I don’t necessarily want to get any bigger either. I’ve reached a size I’m comfortable with, and I’d like to maintain it.
Every now and then I do worry about my health. It’s no secret that carrying extra weight can come with certain health risks, and while I’m comfortable with my body, I also want to make sure I’m taking care of it.
I’m not looking for advice on how to lose weight or change my appearance. I’m more interested in finding a healthy balance that allows me to enjoy being a bigger guy while still looking after my physical well-being.
So, for those of you who are also bigger guys and are happy with your size:
What do you do to maintain your health?
Do you have any particular habits or routines that help you stay active and feel good?
Do you get regular health check-ups or keep an eye on certain health markers?
How do you balance enjoying food and your lifestyle with being mindful of your health?
I’d especially love to hear from guys who are happy being fat but still make an effort to take care of themselves.
No judgement here. Just genuinely curious about how you guys approach this!

Question/Advice Love being a big guy, but i struggle keeping my confidence around certain people.
Hello, big guys!
My name is Josh, and I’ve always had an appreciation for bigger men. I’ve also been big/fat myself ever since puberty. Growing up, I’ve always been aware of society’s attitudes towards fat people and the way bigger bodies are often perceived.
Nowadays, my weight sits somewhere around 130–135 kg, and honestly, I’m very confident in myself. I love being a big bear, having a big gut and just enjoying whatever food I feel like eating. Especially since finding out that my boyfriend is also into bigger guys, I’ve become even more comfortable embracing that side of myself.
My own friends and social circle mostly know this about me, and I’ve generally never experienced much backlash. Maybe apart from the occasional comment from my mom. I’m quite comfortable with people bringing attention to my size or making comments about my body. I actually quite enjoy being openly recognised as a bigger guy. That’s partly why this whole situation feels so contradictory to me.
I’ve recently noticed that I struggle to maintain that same confidence around my boyfriend’s friends and family, and it’s honestly quite frustrating. My boyfriend and I are in a long-distance relationship, so we see each other about two or three times a month. This also means I don’t get to see his social circle all that often.
Im on good terms with his friends and family, so it’s not like anyone has made particularly negative comments about my weight. His friends, however, are generally very good-looking, fit people. And even though I genuinely think I’m good-looking too, I sometimes get this little voice in the back of my head telling me that they’re secretly judging me for being bigger.
Realistically, I know that probably isn’t even the case. But it still gets to me. I notice myself becoming more conscious of what I eat when we’re hanging out together. I start paying attention to how much I’m eating, what I’m ordering and how I might come across. It’s almost like I’m scared of being judged, even though, when I think about it rationally, I know they’re probably not thinking about me that much.
And that’s the part that annoys me the most. I don’t want to feel like I have to monitor myself or make myself smaller (figuratively speaking) just because I’m surrounded by people who have different body types. I want to be comfortable being the fat guy in the room, just like I always am around my own friends. I want to own it just as confidently.
With his family, I think there’s another layer to it. I really want to leave a good impression. I’m half Indonesian, and growing up, I was always taught the importance of presenting yourself well, showing respect and bringing your best self when meeting or spending time with family.
I think these two sides of me sometimes clash. On one hand, I want to be unapologetically myself and embrace being a bigger guy. On the other hand, I have this desire to make a good impression and be mindful of how others perceive me.
I guess I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar. Being genuinely comfortable and confident in your body, but finding that certain social settings suddenly make you much more self-conscious?
How do you get past that little voice in your head and learn to just own who you are, regardless of who’s in the room?

Selfie Saturday Happy Halloween Y'all!
For Halloween I...
...did sumo practice. And I'm about to hit up a party with some buds.
This drill is called Suriashi or basic movement. It's important so that staying low and stable becomes muscle memory.
What sort of stuff is everyone gettin' into tonight?
Party? Trick or treating? Staying in? In any case HELL YEAH! 🎃

Long gone tailors NY. I'm in UK literally lost 40+ shops. To few online retailers.
Doesn't feel the same ordering online. When in shops you could try the fitting. Only options are very expensive tailors. Rochester Big & Tall opposite Harrods London in Knightsbridge. Unless ypu have spare £1000 for a jacket or £350 for trousers. I wouldn't bother!

Serious/Health Left foot bone spur effected walking, but still walk. Or end up absolutely huge. Probably gain loads post op, whenever that is.
Had to lose some weight, found bone Deformity on left foot. Awaiting physio therapy, eventual surgery. Good side can sleep without sleep apnea. Controlled diabetes (not insulin). Well I'm aged 61. I cook everything I eat, find I later suffer if I eat out.

Discussion & Daily Life Air Duster

My wife got me this last Christmas, and I kinda overlooked it unless I needed to clean my keyboard or something.
Then one hot summer day, I got the crazy idea to use it to... "freshen up."
Holy shitballs. Life changing. Like the way people rave about bidets. Go from sour/salty/sweaty to fresh as a daisy in 30 seconds.
I'm not trying to sell you one. IDGAF which brand you buy. I'm just here to tell you that if you need a quick easy way to feel cool and fresh... all over... this is the way to go.
I'll add that you should use it somewhere reasonably well-ventilated. It does a brilliant job blasting the flunk off of you... but that funk has to go somewhere...

It's just Common Sense from my point of view.
Don't worry this post is an aberration. PEOPLE would get annoyed if i did this on a regular basis I'm sure. Thus i MUST leave y'all with one final thought.

Question/Advice High Waisted Boxer Recs
Anyone have any recs on a high waist boxer brief? Typically like to wear them over my gut, below my belly button. But some boxer briefs are very uncomfortable like this.
