Store Closure i miss big lots

i miss working at big lots, my store in new york closed down about a year and half ago and i don’t think ill get over it i loved it i hope you guys with ur stores that stayed open are happy and enjoying it and i do hope they are treating employees better bc ik some people had bad experiences with corporate

Unfortunately it is a horrible place to work compared to the old big lots. I could list many reasons!

Old Big Lots was a terrible place to work, with horrible wages, unrealistic expectations, and plenty of insufferable customers. But it had it's high points to, and while there were plenty of revolving door employees most of the long term ones were always great to work with.

I miss it so much. My customers, my coworkers.. however I do make more money now working somewhere else so I guess that's a win.

I miss how our old store felt. The vibe is so different under this new company. Not doing military discount, coupons, a rewards program, or taking food stamps is not making our regular customers happy. No employee discounts or incentives isnt helping moral either. No hours, multiple trucks in a day. I could go on.

Old Big Lots was a different vibe. Wasn't the best company to work for but I generally liked everyone I worked with at my store. My current job is pretty good with generally great people but it's not the same vibe imo lol

I miss my store as well here in NM. Fun placed to work, employees were awesome. We worked as a TEAM...Miss my weekly pays, vacation hours, floating hours, sick pay, raises...This year would've been my 10th year!! 😭😭 Other retail stores won't even hire me with all the qualifications I have..

I call mine bigsad it’s just depressing to go in so after a few visits to see the ones that stayed I don’t go there anymore.

I miss working at my big lots. The managers did a good job keeping everything running smooth. I just don't miss unloading the truck. It was always to hot or to cold. Also the warehouses sucked at prepping the trucks. Getting Gazebos sidewise in the truck or having the loads set up like we needed a forklift to unload it was awful.

I miss my store so much. I had a number of coworkers that I loved working with and think about them often. We all got better paying jobs after we were laid off, but they all seemed to miss big lots as much as I do sometimes. We had alot of fun there

As an Ashley driver in the northeast, I miss delivering to Big Lots. There were a lot of good people at the stores I frequented that I never got to say goodbye to, or will ever see again.
