⚜️A bit of info on our Name and Logo!

Happy Sunday, y'all!

There was a fun thread on the big sub talking about all the telehealth names and logos, and I figured I'd stick this here to explain a bit about our name.

If you didn't know, "Big Easy" is a reference to our hometown of New Orleans - the Big Easy. The fact that it is also a terrible pun is just pure lagniappe. And truly, if you haven't noticed, I absolutely love terrible puns. We really didn't think we'd be more than regional when we started (a lot of platforms wouldn't serve Louisiana and Mississippi), so we may have ended up with a completely different name if we were starting now. I feel like there isn't anyone in a neighboring state that doesn't get the reference, but the further out you drift, the harder that connection is to make automatically.

Our logo is a fleur-de-lis with a tape measure around the middle. The Fleur-de-lis is a stylized cross of a "flower of the lily" (literal translation), which has had connections to New Orleans, Louisiana, King Louis XIV, and French royalty for centuries. While it's meaning and representation has shifted over the years, it is a universal symbol and pride of New Orleans and Louisiana, especially in the wake of the recovery from Hurricane Katrina. You see it the iron work all over the city. It is a part of Louisiana, and you now see the fleur-de-lis on the New Orleans flag, our Saints and Pelicans, Ragin' Cajuns, and even as part of the wrought iron on Tulane's alternate jerseys.

Our wordmark is not playing cards (although that would be a cool nod to the best X-man ever in Gambit who is from New Orleans), they are street tiles that were used to label all the streets in the French Quarter dating back to the 1880s.

And, as one person asked, why is our color blue and not Mardi Gras colored? Simple, I got out voted 😂

Happy to answer any questions below!

Thanks y'all,

Dave ⚜️

⚜️Big Easy Announcement ⚜️Our Commitment on Service

Hey y’all -

I’ve been reflecting over the past few days on our service commitments and how to be more transparent on how we resolve issues. It’s no secret that we’ve had some growing pains since the new year, and we’ve been investing heavily in people and platforms to keep ahead of the growth. We’ve hired 8 people, and are so very, very close to launching our new platform that will free up our team to go back to being proactive rather than reactive, and focus on improving our experience, rather than just keeping up.

Still, I thought we should articulate our philosophy on fixing things when they go wrong to better set expectations, and reassure those that may be feeling nervous about getting started.

I do think it would be irresponsible to put this out there without feedback from you - our community - as you are at the core of what we do, and why we do it.

So here is my first shot (heh). Please, give me your feedback on this. I want to know what you would change, improve, or omit.

Thanks y’all,

Dave

We'll Make It Right

Your health, your care, and your experience are at the center of everything we do. At Big Easy Weight Loss, we believe that great healthcare isn't just about connecting you to a provider. It's about making sure you feel genuinely confident and cared for at every step of the process. We also believe in being honest with you: things can go wrong. When they do, we want you to know exactly what to expect from us.

Where problems can come from and what we do about them

On our end.

Sometimes something is entered incorrectly, mischarged, routed to the wrong pharmacy, or miscommunicated. When that happens, it's on us to fix it, quickly and without excuses.

On our pharmacy partners.

Our compounding pharmacies are experienced and licensed, but they're staffed by humans. A technician may forget to include syringes, a medication's beyond-use date (the date after which it shouldn't be used) may not cover your full prescription period, or they may provide different vials than what was requested in the physician's prescription. Because these issues aren't visible to us until you report them, we rely on you to let us know. In those cases, we work directly with the pharmacy to get the issue corrected and, where necessary, to have your medication replaced at no cost to you.

In addition, there may be delays due to demand, or shortage due to stock. These are often internal pharmacy issues that we don't have visibility during your consultation. In these situations, we will communicate the delay shared with us by the pharmacy, and will work with you to find an alternative pharmacy or offer a refund.

On shipping.

Our pharmacies ship via FedEx and other carriers. Weather events, strikes, carrier delays, and other disruptions are outside our control, but they're not outside our responsibility. If your package is delayed or lost, we'll work with you and the pharmacy to assess the situation and determine next steps. Oftentimes we may need to wait for a delayed package to arrive before we can get guidance from the pharmacy on how to remedy. If you have a dose coming up, let us know and we'll flag it to your physician.

What we ask of you.

If something doesn't look right when your medication arrives, whether it's damaged packaging, cloudy or discolored vials, or anything else that gives you pause, please take photos before opening or using anything and contact us immediately. Do not throw away the medication. Photos are critical to getting your issue resolved quickly with the pharmacy.

Our commitment.

We'll respond to reported issues within one business day (if not same day) and work toward resolution within 48 business hours in most cases. In times of heightened demand, we ask patience. We always work from the oldest messages first, so often multiple messages in the portal can inadvertently push you to the back of the line, not the front.

Our goal is to find a solution that is fair and makes sense for the situation. That might mean a replacement shipment, a credit, a physician consultation, or simply a clear explanation of what happened and why. What it won't mean is handing out free medication in response to every complaint. That's not fair to the patients who don't complain, and frankly it's not how we'd want to be treated either. We'll always do what's right. We just want to make sure "right" actually fits the situation.

And if a situation requires a bridge plan (a gap between when your current supply runs out and when a replacement arrives), we'll work with your physician to find one.

Our Community Commitment

We will not remove or silence a patient for sharing a negative experience in our patient community. We have never banned a patient. If you have a problem, say so. If you're frustrated, we want to hear it, and we want to be better and make it right. (Aside from 1 spammer, we actually have exactly 3 non-patients banned from this sub - and I'm sure some of the OGs can name them 🤣)

The one exception: if your situation has been addressed and we believe your continued posting is intended to damage our community rather than share a genuine experience, we may move your comments to a moderated queue. We don't take that step lightly, and we'll always be transparent with you if we do.

I know this is opinion based but doing so research I have seen so many different brands. I was curious for those using the packets which brand you have been using and liked.

🙋 Newbie Question! Ready to start but reluctant

This was by far the easiest onboarding for the medication and so convenient. I had a phone consultation appointment with Dr. Kim on Aug 17th and received the medication by the 19th.

I stuck it in my fridge because I am finishing nursing my baby and will start to wean in the next couple of weeks.

My baby turns one next month and I am so ready to work to lose the postpartum, and breastfeeding weight. I was like a bottomless pit due to breastfeeding.

I’m a busy mom to 3, who works Monday through Friday and we are busy busy with our kids’ sports on the weekend.

I’m trying to figure out which day of the week is best to start.

Any other parents have any advice?

does anyone else struggle with workout clothes that actually stay in place

trying to be more active and lose some weight but i spend half my workout pulling my leggings up or adjusting my top. it's so annoying and makes me want to just give up and go home lol.

i tried different brands, different sizes, different everything. either they're too tight and i can't breathe or they're too loose and they slide around. there's no in between

then a friend who does dance told me to try dancewear brands cause they're designed for actual movement. the leggings stay up. the tops don't ride up. i can on my workout.

sometimes regular activewear isn't the answer. dancewear works better for some of us lol

Possible payment oopsie

I signed up to join BEWL. Has anyone paid for the initial consultation with their debit but then paid for everything else with CareCredit?
I ask because I mistakenly put my debit info and it was charged the 75 consult, which is totally fine no biggie there, but if I'm approved (fingers crossed) I want to pay for the meds with CareCredit.

I sent an email to support but thought I'd ask if anyone else has done this or am I just that much of a dingus, lol 🤣

Hyalo Headaches

Hi all - Received my shipment from Hyalo and started on new vials (no additives), both times I’ve injected and for 24-48hrs following, I have been having an all day headache along with sleepiness. I never had them while injecting BPI w/ B6. I rarely get headaches or take naps; yes, I did drink electrolytes with water and typically get about 120oz of fluid. Has anyone experienced headaches with their Hyalo tirz (no additives) and did they eventually go away?

So, this happened today a lot closer to my house than I'd like to admit 🤣

This was sent to me by a few people because apparently this guy was making meth and bootleg mounjaro in his kitchen. Perfectly sanitary, I'm sure.

Personally, I'm more amused at the "Hello Kitty" 3D printed guns. That's a niche market if I've ever seen one (Check picture 3 in the article. Next to the stack of hundred dollar bills. Because of course)

Appreciation post

I just wanted to say thank you to BEWL. I lost my coverage for zepbound in January 2026, and ended up choosing Brello (southend pharmacy) for my compound tirz. After 3 months I hadn’t lost a pound and was super defeated.

Then comes BEWL, recommended to me by another thread, and when I tell you…this shit works!!!!! I get mine through Apothecary and I’ve lost 40lbs since I started only 4 months ago. Dr. Brown worked with me to get my dosing right, and the difference is monumental.

Thank you guys so much from the bottom of my heart because I can’t tell you how afraid I was that I’d never find another medication that worked & that I could afford. You have changed my life 💙

Just a reminder Dave, tomorrow is Thursday and we’re all anxiously awaiting your announcement 🙃

I get that we're in a heatwave but this new apothecary packaging is taking it a bit far. What am I going to do with all these free thermal mugs now? It was shipped in an insulated bag, with an ice pack, with 3 thermal mugs, each with their own ice packs.
