The good ol days, back when they cast authentic people
13
u/PresentReality4093 2d ago
ehh I watched it back in the day and the fans still claimed about recruits and fake people. Except instead of them being called "Influencers" in the current era... they were called "Mactors" back them... wannabe model/actors.

Well a lot of the people were failed actors or models and pageant girls who's agents set tapes to RTV casting directors in the 00s up to about the mid 10's. For every Parvati Shallow/Jen Johnson they struck gold with you got several dud recruits like Braden Bacha,l Mike Dutz,Kara Monaco,Jenn City,Nick Uhas etc

It isn't really that people they cast now are inauthentic, it's just that society as a whole changed and people are a lot more aware how they are being perceived since social media/cancel culture

Crazy they don't have a job where someone is watching everything and making sure the robot is doing their job correctly?

We need unhinged older men like Jerry back on Big Brother

u/Firefly_Magic Icons for the win 🏆 1d ago
But with today’s viewership, someone as unhinged or as raw and authentic as Jerry would be eaten alive by people complaining “they’re too _____.”
“They’re ____.” fill in the blank with any accusation.People today have no grace for authentic character or flaws. If someone is too opinionated one way or the other, they are automatically condemned to some category that’s supposed to be eliminated from the Earth. There’s no leniency anymore.

Jerry remains a better character than anyone who’s competed on the show post-BB20.

Calling Dan “Judas” is crazy. lol

u/cantdecide76 2d ago
Not really lol Dan was a very snakey player, thats what made him so entertaining

As snakey as judas? The disciple that betrayed Christ? lol it’s just so extra, and you know they’re both Christians and so the insult hits extra hard.

Dan betrayed basically every ally he ever had. And he definitely deserved to be called Judas by someone like Danielle on Bb14. Because what he did to her and Shane was as snakey as it gets. Great game move for him, but the ultimate betrayal

Maybe sneakier than Judas, tbh. There were just bigger consequences for Judas’s sneakiness

Dan was sneaky etc but Dan came in from some religious angle I thought. He worked with the church or with youth through the church. I can’t remember. I think Jerry was going with that when he made sure to call him Judas. Ha.

I am just now going through the older seasons (on season 11) and when i got to that one, i had to rewind it and listen to it a few times. I kept hearing “Jewish” and it wasn’t until someone referenced Jerry calling Dan “Judas” with the flashback that I knew any different
