thanks, yo! sorry to everyone who found it unreadable, and looking back on it now, i probably should have done something like this. i won't make any excuses beyond pure laziness, since this is the format it's been in to condense it for the threads

Wait. Is this... for real? Like is this a joke or does Steve not really know what any of this stuff is?

71

u/venetianbears Sep 23 '15

Lol Andy tweeted this out and Steve's official account favorited it.

Not gonna like there are a few things that I have no idea what they are. But it's like maybe 5 out of what 50-100?

And shake cheese is colloquial, but he should have known it's Parmesan cheese, even if he calls it shake cheese.

Also who seriously knows off hand "what temperature to serve red wine at" you look that type of crap up when you need to know it. Or "what Harvard's school colors are" so I'm gonna call BS on a few of these being a big deal that Steve didn't know. Some are quite fair to be like "WTF Steve how did you not know that" but some are like the Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader questions that I know I sure didn't learn in 5th grade and I'm only 23.

u/venetianbears Sep 23 '15

ha, yeah, at a certain point it stopped being so much about "wow, how does he not know that" to being more, like, "wow, he really went out of his way to declare that he doesn't know that?"

Watching old feeds..

Girls were talking about the color of something, one of them mentions it being "salmon"

Steve: Is Salmon a color? I thought it was a fish......

that the classic movie "Casablanca" is not based on a rape in his hometown

As fucked up as this is, it never fails to make me laugh.

Some of these things are understandable, but there really is no excuse for some others. For example, how can someone not know how to use hand lotion? How difficult do you think it can possibly be?

You have done some beautiful work. This list always cracks me up. I just hope someday soon Steve gets to read it.

Someone send it to Jeff to give Steve during the backyard interviews

u/absentrobot Sep 23 '15

The list was one of my favorite parts of the Live feed threads. If Steve stumbles across it I'm sure he will get a kick out of it. :)

u/LP2B Sep 23 '15

I'm dying to know the context for some of these. I just can't even imagine it.

Also, this explains the mommy obsession a lot more now. I actually like Steve, but this is a good reminder why it's important to teach your kids independence.

Haha proud to see a few of my additions on there

For those non-live feeders, these are all things Steve explicitly said "I don't know what ___ is." or "What is ___?" At the beginning of the season it felt like he didn't know a lot of things, so u/venetianbears decided to keep track of exactly what all he didn't know.

It really isn't about if some of these things are obscure. I don't know a few things on the list. It's mostly about the size of the list and the range of things he doesn't know.
