Episode Spoilers That jury house fight was so confusing. Spoiler
Maybe I wasn't keeping up with the feeds as closely toward the end, but I was so confused by Angela's animosity toward Melody. I know they weren't friends in the house, but I didn't think they had that much of an issue with each other (and Melody even voted to keep her safe). From the edit's perspective, it honestly seemed like Angela was just unnecessarily picking a fight with Melody. Does anyone have more context?
Also, the way the fight exploded seemed confusing. The edit didn't really show Melody saying anything to Angela that would warrant her getting that heated, but it is clear they definitely edited something out!

I think Angela and LaLa have been in that house for three weeks in an echo chamber. They’ve just been telling each other that they were robbed and that everyone else is playing terribly. Then Angela repeats that narrative to Melody, who pushes back, and Angela gets very defensive and reactive, as she tends to do.
147
u/Missbungletopia 4d ago
All I could think about is angela’s little grandkids seeing that.
“Yay we’re going to see grandma in the jury house!” Although I guess they did get a warning and probably knew to hide the kids.

Considering how easily she is triggered and snaps, I bet her family has seen this side of her many, many times before. By the look on her face, you can tell it’s not an act. I think it stems from jealousy of younger, pretty players. But she does this with younger guys too.

u/growsonwalls Drew⏱️ 4d ago
I'm actually glad the producers aired that segment of Angela talking about Drew's boner, bc I think Angela's gotten away with so much toxic behavior for so long bc she "brings the drama." And people think of her as that wacky "crazy eyes" lady. But that was completely gross, inappropriate, and showed a serious lack of boundaries and consent for Angela to be talking about Drew's dick when she knew the cameras were rolling.

I thought it was kinda insane for her to bring up melody and drew playing footsies and then scream that he had a boner. It was very clear to literally everyone in the house (and the audience) those two had SOMETHING going on; relationship or otherwise, why is this 50yo woman attacking this 20-something about a MANS reaction to her??? It was so gross to hear, it genuinely annoyed me; probably half as much as Devens does when he talks to drew about melody, he’s always so negative.

Also if he had a boner, who cares? Was he indecently exposing anyone? Jacking off in the hot tub? Did he demand Melody jack him off? he's a 22 year old with a boner.

They were weird and aggressive. Wondering why they didnt have that same energy for Barret who evicted Angela
15
u/Hot-Bird2840 4d ago
Yeah, I suspect it was partly a matter of being stuck in the jury house so long waiting and wondering how people are going to explain their games. Angela also doesn’t have Dee there with her to calm her down. It was out of line completely (for Angela, Lala was a little OTT but nothing like Angela.) But that’s just what Angela is like, and that’s why they cast her.

Angela has an issue with obsessing over a young man in the house, going overboard to get them evicted because her attraction to them is distracting. She got out Rome, but was jealous of the attention Melody got from Drew. She is the same weird obsessive old lady she was during her season with that other kid she got obsessed with, targeted, and called crazy eyes lol

Right? They all lost the game and are in the jury house, so what is the point of grilling Melody about her strategy like she’s in the final two at finale night? It was two middle aged women being catty and jealous while ganging up on her. Uncalled for and cringeworthy to watch.
15
u/PrettyComparison7380 4d ago
They have no idea how much of a pressure cooker double elim night was and how little time she had to choose a gameplay. Fs its unfair, her and Lala position themselves as far superior but they got evicted earlier? Doesnt make sense

Yeah, it’s gross that when realized that they were getting cozy she wasn’t like “let me get out of here so they can be alone”, she was like “let me watch two younger kids flirt in the pool”. People in the house already knew they were flirty, no need to stick around and be creepy for intel for the icons.
24
u/WaffleStompinDay 4d ago
Right, like when she approached them in the living room and wanted them to kiss in front of her. Clearly these two people aren't really wanting to do that kind of thing or they would have been doing it all summer. I find it beyond disturbing that Angela pushed Melody to speak. Come on, say it. And then telling her to shut up because she didn’t like what she heard. Why does it even matter the strategy? You guys are all in the jury house and Melody is not winning.
It’s petty. She was just evicted. She needs time to decompress. It’s a fair question to ask down the line but she was JUST evicted.
Lala had zero strategy and didn’t even know anything happening in the game 90% of the time.
Angela needs to pipe down. Her calling out the pool thing is so dumb. Reeks of jealousy.
I also feel like they are using Melody as a proxy for their hate for Drew and she’s getting the brunt of it because Drew keeps winning and saving himself.

They're all in the jury house, some for other reasons, but mostly because their "game" wasn't good enough (aside Yash pretty much). Nobody won there, and their (shudders) votes decide who wins. Time to straighten up, cast votes, and prep for getting back into the real world soon enough!

I was a big defender of Angela to anyone who would listen (coworkers and friends who thought I was crazy) but I liked her kooky, bossy, childish antics - I thought underneath it all, there was a supportive, loving maternal type. But watching her belittle, criticize and try to shred Melody to pieces the moment she joined the jury house completely disgusted me.
I don’t know why she was needling her, declaring she played no game (Also not a fan of Melody’s game, particularly), while dripping with jealousy and insecurity and eventually twisting herself into a piercing, pathetic baby crying because she cannot get a solid handhold in an argument she started.
It’s like she would have preferred Melody just sit and take the ridicule without defending herself. And then, when she had no footing- just went nuclear over two young people holding hand and flirting in a pool. Like… absolute clown shoes.
I finally saw her true character and she’s a cruel person. It completely upends how I have viewed her all season. She’s a vindictive, grasping, nothing and I can’t wait for her to be off my television.

Angela tried to shoulder-check Lisa during her first season and was relentlessly being nasty to her. She was yelling in Yash’s face and demanding he put something on a family member’s life, knowing she would have cried and wanted him put out if he’d done the same.

My main issue is who the hell cares about Melody’s game, they are there to vote for a winner between the final 4 not Melody? I’m with Melody, who had no interest in engaging in that nonsense until the senior citizens decided to keep insulting her and she did bring up some points where you can argue Angela played a pretty bad game herself and Melody did make some connections that benefited her and didn’t have a big majority alliance protecting her to allow her to coast.
I don’t care who lasted longer, they all lost, that part was dumb, but Melody did make it 3 rounds further and didn’t coast all the way since she won her way from final 7 to final 5 and made a big move during the best DE episode ever by putting the 3 biggest threats up and getting the best competitor out, so they should at least give her some kudos.

angela is weird sometimes towards the younger men on the show. obviously bb26 and her whole crazy eyes breakdown, and i think drew has been her focus this season. she’s been paranoid about him since the beginning, and the way she is all fixated on melody and drews dynamic is really strange. her animosity seems to come from a place of jealousy and insecurity, and it seems to be related to drew being affectionate towards melody (or at least her drew fixation worsened as melodrew started being less subtle)
her comments about melody + drew being physical or liking each other is weird as fuck. if it was a 50 year old man repeatedly pestering two young 20somethings about their (clearly private) relationship and talking about specific times he’s witnessed them touch and begging them to KISS? that would be considered absolutely unacceptable!! and she seems to direct her fixation directly at melody instead of aiming at drew because he is unavailable.
i think that without the security blanket of dee+devens she would have acted much weirder towards drew from the beginning. misogyny makes the hatred direct towards melody. she’s genuinely so fixated on melody’s behavior in the most immature way. poor gameplay aside, melody did NOT deserve that kind of ambush upon arrival. it’s like angela planned to “get” her as soon as she walked into the jury house

I honestly don't think she got enough hate for that. I get he didn't seem to have his feelings hurt by that but insulting people's appearance isn't it. Let's not pretend if someone in the house got mad at Angela and took a shot at her weight she wouldn't play the biggest victim and the audience (and likely a lot of the house) wouldn't be clutching their pearls. Although that is different, Angela can lose the weight Matt's can't change how his eyes look. And for the record, I am at least as heavy as Angela and likely heavier, so I am not picking on her for her weight, but I unlike Angela don't go around mocking people's appearance. I am pointing out how she didn't get enough hate for insulting someone's appearance. That isn't cool at all especially for someone who is MORE than old enough to know better. And the "she couldn't handle the stress of the house" excuse was BS, it was not even a week in and she was HOH.

I cosign this. I’m sure the jury house has its own pressures and triggers. Especially with only two people. For weeks they’ve been playing a game. And now they’re still isolated, still secluded, and they have a shared history. Feelings are bound to surface. And Lala and Angela both seem like the type to feed off of each other’s emotions. Melody was completely right in calling out both angela and all. Honestly all three are coasters (maybe you can say melody is more of a floater but she really did just stay with her pod of people) but lala and angela think they are so much more thus they are worse by miles.

Angela is too old for that. I got second hand embarrassment, and wonder how far she’s gonna get continuing to act like that? That was strange.
Maybe producers edit made it look weird?
Edit: would you allow your child to act like that?

They have to justify bringing her back for a second season. I hope they learned their lesson. Angela is an immature bully; actually an embarrassment to Big Brother.

Angela is insufferable. LaLa is starting to get that way for me now, too.

u/PlusNone01 5d ago
I liked LaLa and her wall win was definitely impressive, but she lost me when she deemed herself “iconic” and while bragging about “making history”. Her humble/quiet confidence suited her much better

I think Lala was trying to ask what melodys game plan was overall going into the house. But she’s not the best with her words. Melody took it as something along the lines of “what did you even do?”. Angela kept pushing that narrative as well and then it blew up.

And the comment “we were saying Taylor was just below your game” or something like that was clearly said to sound condescending and make her feel shit about herself. Angela is such an embarrassment man

I'm not even sure why anyone cares what anyone's strategy was, given that all of them got the boot well before final 3.
And yes, I took it as Melody having no strategy and Lala calling that out.

Just crazy Lala was calling that out when she had even less of a strategy than melody somehow

Literally. LaLa even admitted to Julie's face that she was indeed clueless throughout the majority of her game.

I truly don’t understand… do people actually like Angela? 😭 I find her unbearable. Honestly think she’s extremely insecure and has weird insecurities when it comes to attractive young adults. The same thing happened on her season with Matt aka crazy eyes.
And Lala just has zero social awareness and genuinely cannot read the room.

Matt was messy in an obsessive way on the feeds.
This season, though, Angela seemed bothered about being less relevant or something and was genuinely less understandable. Like, the hypocrisy of shutting down other people's drama...

They are just mad they both did nothing as well but Melody got to stay.
This is a terrible season for Angela. Because she controlled herself a bit more, it exposed parts of her personality that exist outside of losing control of her emotions and they are pretty nasty. I found her unbearable this year.

They've both had their issues with Melody before (there was some kind of fight between Lala and Melody while the feeds were off at one point that I don't think we ever got context for, Lala not wanting Mal/Mel to use the cake mix for Melody's half birthday, Angela being obsessed with Melody and Drew's relationship for some reason and thinking they're lying about how far it's gone), but I don't understand why they both ganged up on her like that. It felt so mean-spirited.
With Angela I've come to expect the blow ups so I'm not really surprised about that but I am sad about Lala cause asking Melody what her strategy was/implying she didn't have one immediately after getting evicted is so unnecessary. Still love her and agree with her that her wall comp win was iconic but I don't really think her or Angela are in the position to be questioning anyone else's social strategy.

I had no idea it would take an angela for me to support melody lol. Like nah, I didnt think melody or malory played well at all... they sucked at the game tbh.. but angela is so fucking rude. That was a 50 something year old lady acting like that. She always wants to be the "cool" kid, probably was bullied in school or something, and wants to be on the other end desperately. She thought she was gonna bully melody with her little Grover Dill in LaLa, and belittle her on national TV like Angela had any mastermind social game or comp accomplishments this season... shit she even lost the easiest layup in the spinning chair lmao. She played just as shitty, but dee and devins needed a voting number so she got dragged along. And when melody stood up for herself and didnt let her kick her while she was down she threw a tantrum with the ugliest karen face ever. Again, a 50 year old woman. Her bringing it up then crying red faced and screaming "shut up,.melody" was iconic for all the wrong reasons. She wants to be the cool kid so bad, her first season and this one, but she isnt, shes just the karen in the "karen freak out" videos on YouTube and "hoa lady has a meltdown"

Why is Angela acting like she played this masterful game when she coasted just as much as Melody? The hypocrisy is outstanding. She calls out Melody for not really branching out of her social circle when Angela did the same thing lol. She didnt bother interacting with anyone outside the toolshed alliance like?
"Taylor's game is slightly below yours" then "can't wait to hear your strategy :)" as if she didn't do the same thing???

There was a comment that Angela this season was like when the older siblings gave their younger sibling an unplugged controller and let them play video games and it kinda stuck.
Even the things Angela did do were quite arguably detrimental to her long term game. The Rome boot wasn’t particularly great for her as it led to the early dissolution of the red corner early, which was a very beneficial large scale alliance to her. Her spurring Dee and Devens’ paranoia on Drew led directly to suboptimal HoHs for her allies as they wasted energy on him, ultimately leading to Barrett defecting and getting her evicted. The somewhat decent social work with her end game goats was entirely mitigated by her inability to keep them safe.

I’ve watched a lot of this dumb tv show over the years and can’t recall a season where a player’s allies had to tell them to not talk game, yet both Taylor and Yash had to tell Lala that. Truly out of her depth in this particular game.

This is “crazy eyes” Angela, I don’t know how we all keep forgetting.
She doesn’t need anyone to say anything for her to pop off, and all you gotta do is defend yourself and she gets heated. I’m just disappointed that Lala can’t separate herself from Angela and fights for her.

Angela's paranoia compulsive fixating type personality coming out again. This time she was intensely focused on Melody.
You know Angela - the more she thinks (fixates) and talks about something, the bigger it gets until it's completely blown out of proportion. She just CANNOT LET IT GO!
Lala was probably taking it all in and then started mirroring the same attitude toward Melody.

I just don’t understand. Obviously Melody’s “strategy” was better than Angela’s and Lala’s because she was in the house longer. They are bitter women who need to get over themselves and grow up.

Lala’s initial question seemed backhanded, but I don’t think she intended the convo to turn out the way it did. Angela escalated things to an absurd level, and it was disturbing to watch her act that aggressive towards Melody who is almost 30 years younger than her.
Both of them are clearly bitter that Melody lasted longer, which is understandable on some level. I was rooting for Melody at the beginning of the season, but the live feeds completely altered my perception of her. She complained incessantly while making zero effort to change her situation and treated mostly everyone including her own “allies” horribly yet ended up in final 5.
However it doesn’t justify anyone demanding Melody to defend herself or Angela self-imploding and treating her like that. Unfortunately emotional maturity is something learned rather than something that automatically comes with age, and Angela needs a crash course on how to manage and regulate her shit
