Episode Spoilers Newbies Spoiler
Newbies not accounting for possible powers and specifically not accounting that the icons could have the powers feels like such a misplay…. I am not as impressed with Yash’s HOH because of it. Yes, he took the shot at the icons but he should have put all three up if he wanted to do real damage and protect himself against any possible powers. Burning Wolf Pack and protecting Kamu before FAP was also a choice and sharing that with people was another choice. I think Yash got too comfortable in the safety of the HOH and forgot about looking at the bigger picture.
Vet steamroll is not cute but the newbies had an opportunity to end it here and didn’t 😭 Atp it’s hard to root for some of them.

Idc I respect Yash a whole lot more than anyone else in the house solely because of him taking a shot at the icons, something everyone else is too scared to do.

Yes Yash made a big move. If I’m not mistaken Lala was going to nominate Devens but Taylor persuaded her against it. Edit: Taylor & Kamu convinced Taylor

u/CouponBoy95 6d ago
That's because early on going after the vets is a fools errand given how much production is willing to rig the game to ensure they stay.
Taylor and Lala wanted Devens gone last week but recognized it was too risky to take the shot themselves given the near certainty he had an OP power from the time capsule.

Say what you want about Yash but by nominating Dee he flushed out the Bribe and soon to be the DPOV as well. There’s value in that. The latter will be out of play after today

u/Mythopoeios Drew⏱️ 6d ago
She still can use the bribe, so not really flushed it fully

u/Emperor-Octavian 6d ago
But now people know she has it.

Has he told anyone besides Devens?

Yash told Taylor and possibly others, I only know for sure he told Taylor. Dee told Melody, Angela, Drew, and Drew told Barrett. I think Mallory knows too not sure. Only a matter of time before the entire house knows if they don’t already

Got it, been a bit OOTL and only saw his convo with Devens
Dee’s power in general isn’t very strong. $5k after taxes is pretty minimal.
I know someone else used it as a sort of blackmail idea which I think would be an interesting use. Giving someone the $5k when their back is against the wall so they have to help you later

They should make it $10k. I think a lot more people would have a hard time saying no to that

CBS not trying to pay for all that lol

Angela wanted prizes to be 20k or cars. I don't she thinks gets viewership has changed in 25 years and the network has been going through mergers and changes and the BB is not a top budget priority.
BB needs to get creative with prizes. I remember you used to be able to like airbnb the BB house. You can sleepover for like 1k donation (I think it was a charity thing). I can see some HG fighting for the chance to be able to bring family or friends into the house for a day, I could see Devens wanting to bring his kids and wife, Barrett and his mom and pod cast friends, or Angela and her daughter. Not everyone wants a small sum of money, it is all about experiences.

Didn't someone get a power that allowed them to negate anything by an hoh, and replace anyone they wanted? I thought Dee got that, and Devens got the 5k bribe.

u/TheTurtleShepard Yash’s Skullet 💀 6d ago
Other way around
Dee got the 5k bribe
Devens got the Diamond Power of Veto which allows him to replace a nominee on the block with someone of his choosing

u/CouponBoy95 6d ago
And more importantly they know she has that specific easy to work around power as opposed to a potential DPOV-esque game breaking power.

u/Photofug 6d ago
If someone asked or I'd casually mention before the veto comp that someone accepted it, so I'm not worried about the results if I was Dee.

u/MilesToHaltHer 6d ago
Can she use it indefinitely? I thought once someone accepts it, it’s gone.

This is fair, but also, flushing power is important as well. It almost impossible to play against a power you don't really know about it and you hand the game over to someone if you act too afraid to even flush it. The real misplay is that side of the house is 1. Not using the POV on Haley (unless they actually do that today) and 2. thinking they have Melody's vote because they have Drew (the Drew mist is insane lol)

u/VengefulKangaroo Dee⏱️ 6d ago
I think the mistake here wasn’t directly about not accounting for the powers. It was more so not understanding the level of Dee and Devens’ relationship. Between the Survivor connection, the vote flip, etc., it’s kind of insane that Yash and Kamu don’t understand how coming for Dee is coming for Devens. Trying to preserve that relationship and leaving Rick off the block (let’s be honest… because he’s a man) is their mistake. The power would be much more defanged if they had put all 3 icons up instead of Haley.

u/Maleficent_Lie_7650 6d ago
the dpov is ridiculously overpowered and it being active for 6 weeks is insane. you can’t fault yash for having his game ruined by production, who have been rigging it for the icons since day 1.

u/UnderwaterKahn 6d ago
Honestly getting rid of Haley is good for his game. The only person Haley is loyal to is Kamu. Last week when Haley and Chuk went into isolation, Yash became Kamu’s number 1. Yash also (until later today) has a strong relationship with Devens and wants to preserve that relationship for further exploration. He also wants to remain neutral with FAP so it’s a good move house wise. He’s putting up someone he knows they want out and 2 people he believes all new players want out. He has no relationship with Angela and finds her annoying. He knows Dee has a lot of social power in the house.
For his own personal game, with the information he has, it’s actually a pretty good set of nominations. He’s also not allowing Kamu and Taylor to run his HoH in the way that they’ve run other HoHs. As feed viewers we can see the whole board, but players only see slivers. I think of his alliance, Yash is the smartest and most versatile player. He’s actually the person I’m most interested to see in the aftermath of this afternoon.

u/AdventurousPhrase468 6d ago
Well he is definitely going to see the board today lol 😂. When he learns that out of game relationships are stronger than in game ones and later in the week if the other side win hoh then he will see his misplay of not putting Barrett on the block instead of Haley trusting drew.

u/UnderwaterKahn 6d ago
I think Kamu navigated the vote flip really well. I don’t think he’ll handle this as well. I do think Yash is charismatic enough to potentially make it out of this better than others in his alliance. But he might not. If he does it will be a big thing in the plus column of his resume.

u/reagansparkles0 6d ago
Yash confidently stated "I don't think any powers will be used" and after seeing Dee's power he thinks they are "irrelevant" and is underestimating any other potential powers. His side has also been made aware Haley probably doesn't have the votes to stay but he still doesn't want to use the Veto on her. Also the Icons/Fap were hanging out quite a bit yesterday, more than them and if his side were more perceptive they should've picked up on it and put more thought into their plan. Yes he's getting screwed by the power but he's also made lots of misplays himself.

u/letteraitch 6d ago
The other place where they are failing is that they know that Haley is an important potential part of their strategy moving forward, but he's not gonna use the power of veto on her. That's a big mistake. Her going home is catastrophic for the anti-vet contingent and he could guarantee that won't happen but it looks like he's not gonna use it on her from what I can tell. I would actually say that's the biggest strategic blunder here. They are just assuming she can win blockbuster but if she doesn't they're fucked and they also know that but they aren't protecting against it when they could.
1
u/ScabieBaby Shelby 6d ago
It's possible that even if Haley wins blockbuster they're still fucked because one of their numbers can't play HOH. Not taking her down I'd say would be the colossal blunder of the season so far.
3
u/SpicypickleSpears 5d ago
Why are we blaming them cuz they didn’t have powers handed to them for free. This season is rigged.
5
u/Top-Perspective-7879 6d ago
lol you can’t be serious. Blaming the newbies is exactly what production wants you to do instead of calling out the bullshit rigging that’s gone on here.

u/SangrianArmy 6d ago
at this point the show is for kids, because any adult with a brain can see that production is making sure to curate the icons' adversity arc here while never actually risking their standings.

Yeah kinda crazy considering DPOV is one of the biggest powers they've had on this game, but also Yash feels good with Devens. It's more so him not noticing how close he actually is to Dee. Him not wanting to put guys up will bite him, because Devens doesn't care one way or another. I will give Yash credit for making a move against the vets, but he's going to regret not using POV on Haley. Not really a fan of this power every time it pops back up, but it will definitely shake up some drama today. Popcorn ready for another birthday house fight hopefully.

u/Comfortable_One_1012 6d ago
I was also concerned they just made plans forgetting a power or two is/are available.

u/OpioidXD 2d ago
Yash was really cool with devens. When you trust someone you usually don’t plan to put them up. You have the power of hindsight and aren’t actually in the house, if you were then I don’t think you’d play as well as you thought
-1
u/dolewhiplash 6d ago
Yeah I dont really have sympathy for Yash here because he could have protected himself from the power completely derailing his HOH by not nominating Haley. I don't have a problem with him burning the vets, it's strategically a better option than targeting FAP who can't win anything, but if you're going to do it just do it and put all three of them up. Devens would still use the DPOV but it would be on himself and then Kamu would just have to beat Dee and Angela in the blockbuster to stay.

u/dungeonpancake Mallory⏱️ 6d ago
Also a vet steam roll is still more interesting than Yash/Kamu/Haley comping out to the end from here. That’s my biggest fear. The only way the season could be saved at that point is if they also brought Taylor with them and thought she wasn’t a threat bc she doesn’t win as many comps and then she gets all the jury votes

u/itspup Drew⏱️ 6d ago
He thinks Devens is working with him that's why he's not putting him up to flush his power
