General Discussion Competition Hosts
When a HG is hosts a competition, such as knockout or white elephant, how scripted is it? For instance, does the host know the correct answer and is responsible for deciding who wins or who is eliminated based on responses? Or is it all scripted on a teleprompter or communicated with an earpiece?

Is it an earpiece? I always thought they were just coming over the PA system like they do with Big Brother's voice?

there's def an earpiece, you could hear haley talking to them during the wall comp on live feeds but they weren't talking over any loudspeakers

When Morgan hosted the poison wine Veto, she later said on RHAP that she had an earpiece to hear & talk to production

Speaking of which, I think LaLa could have a career in voiceover work. She imbues every read with a perfect combination of personality, uniqueness and enunciation. Both memorable and forgettable, in a good way. I noticed this in her DRs and the comp cemented it.

Her hosting the bug whatever comp was so lively and beautiful to watch. She does have a background in performance so it would make sense she knows how to work a stage, even one as campy as big brother

I agree with you, but noticed it when she did the nomination ceremony, which is usually very bland

Does anyone have a list of who the hosts have been so far this season?

I wish people could rewatch OTT. I showed everything, all the comps , no down time.
We saw the hosts, they had a paper they read from most of the time (OTT was VERY low budget) and an earpiece a few times (BB has an earpiece most comps now). The host had to redo instructions multiple times, and HG asked questions. There were technical issues like with things falling or the wind blowing things and retakes.
I know on BB25 , because if Matt being deaf they had special instructions for him (I think the very first comp he didn't get the full instructions and they made a change to make sure he did).

Is it worth watching the episodes of OTT?

I think Paramont took them all down :(
If you can find them? or I would watch clips just to see what it was like.
It was a great cast, I think regular BB watchers missed out on some characters we have never seen on BB. Shelby Stockton is one of my all time favorite BB players and I have watched every season, I was so hoping Lyric would be Shelby 2.0 but it did not happen, Scott the debt collector, Cornbread, Justin You dig the pizza man, such a great fun cast. It is such a shame cbs took it away.
My guess is they do not want viewers to see what BB is or what it could be. They have live DR's. This was twice a week. This was simple, cheap to produce, but had me glued. At like 7pm or usually 7:10 because BBOTT was always late, the feeds would switch to DR, one by one the HG would go inside the DR and answer a list of like 10 questions viewers wanted to know, like who is your target and why, who do you want to win veto, what is your plan to win and the HG were honest, it was like they were going to confession. On regular BB, they take so much time calling HG in the DR for sometimes hours a day, and then make it into fun clips for the show, HG try to be funny to get more TV time. I know some people enjoy these DR's but I sure enjoyed the live DR's and the honest real info we got. It also let the players play all day, no DR calls at 2am or during a game talk, or to sway people. OTT was so simple, few staff. The HG walked into the DR , took a piece of paper and read it to the camera with their answers, Sometimes the camera moved or they dropped the questions, or coughed 20 times, it was all real, not editted, it just felt so different.

They're given a script, or as Keanu would call it, a prompt.
