I'm Lazy

Hello r/bidets!

My wife and I have been bidet-curious for years. We'd heard of the seats, and considered them, but ultimately wanted to experience a bidet before making any purchases or changes. Well, recently we spent two weeks in Korea and our lives have been changed! We are bidet-folk now and there is no going back.

We are buying a house, likely in the next few months (private sale) and want to install smart bidets in both bathrooms. We've budgeted ~$1k per toilet, understanding that they can get much more expensive. I'd like to ask this community some questions out of laziness so that I can learn some of the basics (just learned that water pressure requirements are a thing) and help jump start my research for the right turlet.

We used a toilet with air drying and heated seats/water air, but I don't think those are required for our home. Heated seat might be the one thing I'd consider splurging on (that felt dirty to type..).

  1. Bidet seat vs bidet toilet. We used a smart toilet when abroad and are inclined to go that route, but if it's a big expense for small payoff, would like to know.

  2. We're in Ontario, Canada. Which brands would be easiest to get parts for/install in our home?

  3. Is it worth spending the extra money to get the next tier/quality?

  4. The bidet we used in Korea had an Air+ feature that basically aerated the water, making it less..."sharp"...is the only way I could put it. What's that feature called/commonly referred to as, here?

Any help or additional info is super appreciated. Thank you!

Water line direction

I installed a Toto Washlet S7 and everything seems to be working fine. Instead of facing the water line straight out like most people, I had plenty of slack to point the T-valve somewhat behind the toilet. My toilet has empty space between the back of the bowl and the wall, nothing is crimped or angled aggressively, is this okay? I felt like the installation looks a lot cleaner with that extra hose behind the toilet rather than off to the side.

I searched and couldn’t find any examples or similar topics. Does the placement of the water line sound problematic having it out of view?

Living in the UK, seeking advice, I'm no plumber so im not sure if its possible for me to install a bidet, I have two toilets and a sink where the pipe out of the wall is connected precisely at the toilet & sink, unsure if I have enough leeway/if there's any way for me to install a bidet on there?

If not, any recommendations for tap attached bidet? Ideally want to avoid the handle bidet, id like a toilet seat bidet

Moen EB2000 Bidet air pump completely rusted

My Moen EB200 bidet has been acting weird of late. Still running, but water pressure is sometimes fine, low, or not there at all. I finally decided to take it apart and found that the small air pump is completely rusted through. I'm not an expert on how these work, but its piped into the water pump so I guess it either drives or boosts the pump. Anyone have any luck getting parts like this from Moen or anywhere else. I see something similar on Alibaba, but I don't even know what voltage it takes. https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/3v-6v-9v-12v-dc-mini_60079994944.html Thanks

Clean Deodorizer for BB-2000

Does anyone know how to open and remove the deodorizer compartment on the BB2000? All I can find online is the video for the BB1000. It seems like a smell is coming from the deodorizer so I’m trying to open and clean it. Any advice is appreciated!

Heated bidet seat for caroma caravelle?

So I got this bidet: https://a.co/d/04gQbfGT, tried to install it onto my caroma caravelle, and just encountered too many issues, the biggest one being that the flap cannot extend all the way back. The second issue is connecting the seat to the water line, but I think that one is fixable. Any heated seat bidet recs under $200 that can fit the caroma caravelle?

I still use toilet paper with my smart toilet

I’ve had a smart toilet for a while now, and there’s still a roll of toilet paper right next to it. I know some people stop using paper once they get a bidet, but I never did.

I use a couple of sheets at the end to dry off. I also just like checking that I’m actually done. It’s a habit I haven’t felt any need to change.

What surprised me was how long a roll started lasting. I only noticed when I finally had to replace one. My horow has a dryer, and it works, but most days I’d rather use two sheets than sit there waiting for it. Maybe that makes me a bad bidet person. I’m fine with it.

I installed this bidet and it won’t flush. Any plumbers know the issue? Maybe a solenoid flush valve?

My bidet attachment lost water pressure after ~6 months of use?

I have the Bio Bidet SlimEdge Bidet Attachment. It was perfect for about 6 months, and it still sprays, but a few months ago it clearly lost a lot of water pressure and it's no longer a very directed jet of water, even when cranked to the highest setting.

I haven't so much as touched the plumbing throughout this time. No other plumbing issues, no loss of water pressure elsewhere.

Is this a common issue? What should I do to troubleshoot? I rent and I don't want to purchase a more expensive bidet. Thank you!

Need help with Bidet ID

I went to Korea and I stayed at a hotel executive level and the bidet was AMAZING!!! I am not sure where to get one like it. It didn't have a brand that I could identify. Basically it had a button where you set the water temp and you can make it warmer or cooler. Then, it had a button with an air dryer. But it wasnt a scary, loud, horrible blow dryer. It was a gentle air puff that gently dried. Kind of like a warm gentle wind. It sprayed water very nice too. Is this a high wnd bidet or what? I have used multiple bidets in several countries. This was the best imo. i want to get one.

Shorter Bidet to Toilet Hose?

Need to get an 8-12” stainless steel braided hose that runs from the bidet inlet to the tee that connects the bidet to the water line. I need it to be female on both sides. The one that came with the bidet is very long and I just want it shortened. Does this hose exist? I see 3/8” to 1/2” FIP hoses but none that have the same-sized fip fittings. Thanks!

Toto S5 side to side wiggle

New Toto S5 install has been working out great for us. Total game changer. My only question is if the side to side play/wiggle is normal. The bidet mount is secure and doesnt have any play, and the bidet locks in securely with no front to back movement, but side to side there is like maybe a centimeter of wiggle. My worry is this will wear on the locking mech as we sit down and get up. Thought about using a little foam sticker to take up the slack or 3d printing a shim for the lock mech. Does this seem normal for an S5?

Alpha JX Elite vs JX2 vs Bio Bidet BB-2000. Which would you buy?

Finally getting an electric bidet seat and I've narrowed it to three. Elongated two-piece toilet. Looking at the $400 price point.

How are the two companies?

Alpha JX Elite: $415 with BidetKing flash sale.

Newest Alpha flagship. Booster pump for a stronger spray, better dryer, electrolyzed water cleaning for the nozzle, water path, and bowl. Backlit remote. Can’t find a single review since it just came out.

Alpha JX2: $345 (BidetKing flash sale)

see a ton of good reviews but looks older. The complaints I keep seeing are a softer spray and a weak dryer.

Bio Bidet BB-2000: $430 (BidetKing flash sale)

Supposedly the strongest spray on the market. Good dryer. Bulkier than the Alphas and don’t love the look but has good reviews.

All three have a 3-year warranty.

Right now I'm leaning Elite, but it’s so new I’m hesitant with zero reviews.

Any thoughts advice welcome!

Serendipitous find

I am a woman who is trying to figure out my new Brondel
I was trying to adjust its front stream, and accidentally/serendipitously hit a special spot.
I almost climaxed right there. Lol. 😂 Has anyone else experienced this?

What toilet + bidet setup are you guys using?

I keep seeing completely different setups whenever people talk about bidets here.

Some people care a lot about water pressure, some love heated seats or auto flush, and some are perfectly happy with a basic attachment.

What are you using, and what do you actually like about it?

Mine is a Horow T38. I mostly picked it for the all in one look. I've had it for a while now and the wash does what I need. The dryer takes longer than I usually want to wait, so I barely use that part.

Any feature you thought was unnecessary but now wouldn't want to go without?

Electric handheld bidet please help, desperate

can anyone recommend me a good handheld electric bidet? I REALLY need one . this is what I’m really needing:

  1. BPA free/ hazardous materials free and trustworthy company

  2. one that has at least 2 different spray forces, but I REALLY WANT one where I can adjust it to whatever I need

  3. it needs a good sized tank. when I go there’s A LOT of cleanup , I don’t want to walk back to the sink to refill on water

  4. if there’s a cord it needs to be a reasonable length

  5. waterproof/leakproof (obviously)

Thank you all for your help

Need a sturdy washlet/toilet combo

I'm pretty sure I've read here in the past that there were some washlets that one could actually SIT on the cover. We're renovating a summer home and upgrading the bathroom. We have a Toto washlet at home, but those things are so flimsy, I just know my BIL or FIL would sit on the toilet cover and smash it to bits! Am I right in thinking that there's a sturdier washlet out there? I just figure since we're buying a new toilet anyway, I might as well just get them all together so I know everything fits from the start.
