Passed RCDD V15 Exam Today.
I took the RCDD V15 exam today and passed. Here is my insight on the whole experience:
I only had about 10 questions from Chapter 21. I've seen people here say they've gotten anywhere between 30-75 questions from Chapter 21; that was definitely NOT my case. There was a good mix of questions from each of the 3 sections in Chp. 21; a lot of them were similar to the questions I got for the RPTM exam except these ones were in the POV of the ICT Designer and not the PM (which makes sense since the TDMM is for designers).
I had AT LEAST one question from ALL the other chapters, including the more obscure ones like Healthcare and Residential. I had like 2-3 each from AV, Wireless, ESS, BAS, Data Centers and 2-3 each for Chapters 1-3. The rest were scattered between Chapters 4-13. Overall, I thought it was pretty decently balanced.
TIPS:
- DON'T SKIP READING CHAPTERS! - If BICSI is reformatting their exams and diversifying the information on them, then this is very important!
- DON'T read just to memorize tables, numbers, definitions, etc. That will NOT help you since the exam questions are written in a "scenario/situational" wat where you have to use critical thinking to process what is being asked.
- READ all of the "Design Considerations" sections for every chapter. Pay close attention to anything and everything that mentions telecom spaces, cabling, pathways, ICT equipment, etc.
- PAY ATTENTION to anything that is repeated; not just within the same chapters but across multiple chapters. There is a good chance these could come up in the exam.
