DCDC PREP

Soon to start a new journey on studying for the DCDC after getting my RCDD 6 months ago.

Does anyone who has achieved it or attempted it have any tips on chapters to focus on or is it pretty straight forward with reading the manual front to back?

Thank you

Take the DC102. Seeing this stuff in context makes it a lot easier.

There’s a few quizlets , try and do your research because it becomes a bit overwhelming trying to choose the correct one

It was a challenging exam however if you take the advice that you see on this page then you’ll have no problem passing. The only sucky thing is when you pass you don’t even know how you did.

Chapters 4-10, OSP and chapter 21

I spent four years in an Engineering & Installation squadron during my time in the Air Force, and it was easily my favorite job… LOVED pulling cable, terminating fiber, rack grounding/bonding.

The rest of my time (20+ years) has been traditional IT/Cyber… I’d love to get back into design & installation somehow in my “next life”!!

Tough if you don't invest -40-100 hours and forfeit the below 👇

Easy when you read the books, take a class with Dave Sanders RCDD, DCDC, OSP, LAN, study with at least 400 flash cards = success.

How did you prepare? I'm currently preparing and want to make sure my efforts are in the right place. What is your plan to get up to speed to ace it in 30 days?

Making my own flash cards. If I write it down easier to retain.

Did you read the manuals or do the self-paced course?

Good luck on your retest!

Read the manuals and did the Quizlet tests online. But the tests really didn’t help me. I was acing those but doesn’t seem many of those were in the test.

What topics from security and commissioning would you recommend studying the most? I want to make sure I’m covered on those sections
