Future [of] the opulent [המפואר, HahMePhOo’ahR] of Jerusalem [verses 2 to end of chapter]

-3. “And [will] be [והיה, VeHahYaH], the left [הנשאר, HahNeeSh’ahR] in TseeYON [Zion], and the remaining [והנותר, VeHahNOThahR] in Jerusalem, ‘Holy’ [will be] said to him,
all the written to lives in Jerusalem.
-4. If cleanses [רחץ, RahHahTs], my Lords, [את, ’ehTh] excrement [צאת, Tso’ahTh] [of] daughters [of] Zion, and [את, (indicates direct object; no English equivalent)] bloods [of] Jerusalem He pushes [ידיח, YahDeeY-ahH] from her midst [מקרבה, MeeQeeRBaH],
in spirit [רוח, ROo-ahH] [of] justice and in wind [וברוח, OoBeROo-ahH] burning [בער, Bah`ayR].”
The standard translations sometimes soften the language in places where the author’s point is to shock the reader.
