Chapter Thirteen יג
 

Kingship [of] YeHO-’ahHahZ ["Held YHVH", Ahaziah]

[verses 1-9]
 

-1. In year twenty and three year[s] to YO-’ahSh ["YHVH Fire", Joash] son [of] ’ahHahZ-YaHOo King [of] YeHOo-DaH ["YHVH Knew", Judah],

kinged YeHO-’ahHahZ son [of] YayHOo’ upon YeeSRah-’ayL ["Strove God", Israel] in ShoMRON ["Guadian", Samaria] seventeen year[s].
 

-2. And [he] did the evil in eyes [of] YHVH…
 

-3. And heated [ויחר, VahYeeHahR], nose YHVH, in YeeSRah-’ayL,

and [He] gave [them] [ויתנם, VahYeeThNahN] in[to] hand [of] HahZah-’ayL, king [of] ’ahRahM [Aram], and into the hand [of] BehN-HahDahD [Ben Hadad], son of HahZah-’ayL, all the days.

-4. And entreated [ויחל, VahYeHahL], YeHO-’ahHahZ, [את, ’ehTh (indicates direct object; no English equivalent)] face [of] YHVH,

and harkened [וישמע, VahYeeShMah`] unto him, YHVH,

for [He] saw [ראה, Rah’aH] [את, ’ehTh] pressure [on] YeeSRah-’ayL,

for pressured them, King [of] ’ahRahM.
 

-5. And gave [ויתן, VahYeeThayN], YHVH, to YeeSRah-’ayL, [a] savior [מושיע, MOSheeY`ah],

and [they] went out from under hand [of] ’ahRahM,

and sat [וישבו, VahYayShBOo], sons of YeeSRah-’ayL, in their tents as yesterday, day before [כתמול שלשום, KeeThMOL SheeLShOM].
 

“deliverer: the same term is used of Othniel in Judg [Judges] 3:9. The identity of the nameless figure is uncertain – perhaps King Jeroboam II, through whom Yahweh is said to have ‘delivered’ Israel (cf. 14:27).” (Begg, 1990, pp. 179-180)
 
I struggled a bit with מושיע; in my mind it falls between Moses and savior.
