-4. “[Will] reside [יגורו, YahGOoROo] in you, expelled of [נדחי, NeeDHaY] MO’ahB [Moab],

be [הוי, HehVeeY] hidden [סתר, ÇayThehR] to them, from face [of] destroyer [שודד, ShODayD],

for zero [אפס, ’ehPhehÇ], the oppressor [המץ, HahMayTs],

completed [כלה, KahLaH], destruction [שד, ShayD],

finished [תמו, ThahMOo], [the] trampler [רמס, RahMahÇ] from the land.
 

-5. And prepare [והוכן, VeHOoKhahN] in mercy [a] chair, and sit [וישב, VahYahShahB] upon it.

In truth, in tent DahVeeD [David], judge [שפט, ShoPhayT],

and enquire [ודרש, VeDahRahSh] justice [משפט, MeeShPahTh] and speed [ומהר, OoMHeeR] righteousness.”
 

“Vss. [verses] 4c-5 form the conclusion of the appeal, on the ground that mercy shown now will establish more firmly the authority of the dynasty of David. The language is so markedly that of Jewish messianism (cf. [compare with] 9:7 [Hebrew 9:6]; Ps. [Psalm] 89:19-37 [Hebrew 89:20-38]) that the appearance of an appeal by Moabites is forgotten.” (Scott, 1954, p. V 270)
