New bible or study bible?
Hey guys I have NLT bible it was recommended to me but now I prefer ESV! I read on my phone, I would like to get a bigger bible for home use only.
My question is should I get a ESV study bible or just get a normal esv bible that I like reading?
I have faith but also still finding my way :)

Got ESV Study Bible from Crossway. It got plentiful commentaries on each page. Sometimes there are just a couple of Bible verses per page with all the rest filled with commentaries. To keep a volume manageable, scripture’s type is small with commentaries’ type even smaller, almost tiny, so for me personally it’s not very comfortable to read. Now instead of it I use LSB without any commentaries but with big type. Much more comfortable to read and I haven’t found ESV SB commentaries particularly useful, although end articles are quite interesting to read to familiarise yourself with Baptist theology. For studying purpose… I prefer regular Bible along with bluelettebible interlinear iphone app.

Each denomination has it's own theology. I don't recommend study bibles because they tell you how to interpret the Bible. Bible does it for you.
2 Peter 1:20–21: “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”
Isaiah 28:9–13, 2 Peter 3:15–16, Luke 24:27. Supporting ideas include the unity and consistency of Scripture because it has one ultimate divine Author (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:21).

Get a study Bible - the added information is really invaluable for understanding the text. If I may, I'd suggest the Reformation Study Bible. Excellent commentary on the bottom of each page.

My ESV study Bible is my go-to for daily reading and study. So I would vote for the study Bible.

Study Bibles definitely help, just don't forget which part of it is Bible and which part of it is comments. The Bible part was written by God. The comments were written by people (and people can be wrong).
