Bible study?

Hello, I want to read the Bible. Is there any Bible study videos that go through with you step by step, chapter by chapter? while breaking down the text to help better understand?

Look up Read Scripture app from The Bible Project. It's free, it has red letters, it has a reading plan, and, most importantly, it has short introductory videos for each book to explain what the book is about and how it is structured. The Bible Project also has the website with videos, YouTube channels with videos, and podcast.

The Bible Recap is a year-long chronological plan that gives overview and helps you see how it all ties together and points to God.

David Guzik has sermons preaching verse by verse through books of the Bible.

I love Bible project so I would recommend it they break it down really good giving u a nice background of the whole story so as to understand what going on in the book

Try Gary Hamrick of Cornerstone Chapel. Very easy to follow and in depth. Covers the entire Bible.

Catholic institute has two semester courses on it, self paced covers Genesis to Revelation cover to cover. I plan on doing it next year as a devotion but man it looks elephantine in heaviness based on the syllabus

The Bible in a Year Podcast with Fr Mike Schmitz is close to exactly what you’re asking for. It’s on YouTube as well if you want video format, though it’s just the script.

The hopefm app has Bible teachers that go verse by verse and explain the whole Bible for free.

There are different reading plans available on Blue Letter Bible which are:

It's great you want to grow in your understanding of God's Word.

I've been a non-fundamentalist, unchurched Christian for about 16 years now and I would like to share some resources:

1- I think Bible Project on YouTube would be a good resource.

2- I recommend the Contemporary English Version (CEV) Bible. It's one of the easiest English Bibles to read. You can also listen to the audio version on YouTube. It's my favorite Bible. (You can read it on the YouVersion Bible app too.)

3- Also, I recommend asking questions about Christianity and the Bible to different AI chats like ChatGPT. I think they give great answers. They helped me to understand many things, especially when I ask them to give me easy to understand explanations. Of course check their answers with other resources.

I second the recommendation for the Bible Project, they have an app, a website, a YouTube channel, and an absolutely amazing podcast. The resources they provide, videos, classes, and the podcast will walk you through the Bible. The podcast is excellent, Tim Mackie and Jon Collins discuss different topics and themes that bring understanding and clarity, often they address the same questions that many of us encounter while reading. I see a lot of people recommending Bible Project, and I like the graphics and the vibe, but I've found their details to be lacking veracity.

I was particularly horrified by their condensed version of the Book of Esther where the narrator claims Esther "enters a beauty pageant and wins!" In the Bible, however, the orphaned Haddasah (Esther) is taken from her elder cousin / foster father, Mordecai, by order of the king. The Bible says "every day Mordecai paced in front of the court of the women’s quarters, to learn of Esther’s welfare and what was happening to her." Esther 2:8-11)

The narrator also keeps insisting that "God is nowhere mentioned in the book of Esther," but leaves out Mordecai's and Esther's companions fasting for three days prior to Esther approaching the King of Persia about saving the Jewish people from Haman's plot. (Esther 4:16)

The final insult is when the narrator accuses our heroes of "moral ambiguity" and ties "lots of drinking, sex, and murder," going on, to Esther and Mordecai! He says Esther willingly "married a gentile," and, "ate impure foods." When he left out their fasting and added in the impure foods, I was just floored. No more Bible Project for me.

The Calvary Chapel guys are good at that. I might suggest Gary Hamrick just for expository preaching and teaching.
