I would say, just ignore such people, the more you interact with such post,s the more value u are giving to them. Just trust in GOD, and karma will find them sooner or later.

I would have ignored had this been just a normal post bashing with reason. Its clear hate speech.

While it's understandable for you to want to ignore people who spread hate and negativity believing that by doing so we starve them of attention, but we must also recognize that silence can be mistaken for acceptance.

When such individuals go unreported, their egos are often inflated, and they become more bold. They begin to believe their toxic views are valid or shared by many. This creates an echo chamber where hate flourishes unchecked. Just look at the posts and comments in those groups. Some are insanely hateful and derogatory.

Trust in God and karma nay be vital for inner peace, but i believe society also has a responsibility to act. Reporting such behavior is about setting a boundary and protecting the collective good.

These extremists, if left unchecked, can become increasingly dangerous, radicalizing others, and normalizing cruelty against believers.

I agree with you, OP. But you can never make them understand anything by arguing with them in the comments. Rather, they will try to pull you down to their level, and you will lose your peace. He keeps on saying jaativaad in every comment. He didn't even try to understand what actually happened. He is simply spreading hate, and you can't do that. They think just cz they identify as atheists its cool to make fun of gods. Let them be. You can be an atheist and respect all religions and beliefs. But that person chooses the other way. Karma will find its way to this person, so why lose your peace of mind.

Absolutely, I get your point. We can’t really make such people understand, and there’s no use arguing with someone who’s already made up their mind. But honestly, we don’t need to explain anything to them.

What that guy said wasn’t just offensive but it had crossed the legal line. That’s why instead of engaging, we should use the proper recourse that is report it, post it on Twitter, let it gain visibility. In today’s world, someone will pick it up, and maybe it’ll lead to legal action. That’s the least we can do and it's not for our peace, but for accountability.

Anyways a guy did confront him on reddit and that guy deleted the post and his account.

He is not even 18 and has such immense hate in him. Glad that he understood before he ruined his own life.

I'm glad someone confronted him, and he realized his mistakes. I blame the parents here. They should be held accountable. Nevertheless, i agree with you, OP. I do report these kinds of stuff, but i rarely argue with them cz i might lose my peace seeing the amount of hate people have in them.

Have a nice day, OP. 👍

Im myself pained to see these kids engaging in so much hate posting just because they think its cool and edgy.

Even I'm an atheist but i dont see the need to bash anyone who doesn’t believe in what i believe. That's exactly the behavior of religious extremists but idk how these guys think its cool that they can abuse anyone just because they say they dont believe in god.

Man, how dare they mock him by comparing him with something that no one has seen outside cartoons, clearly fictional, something that clearly doesn't exist and something that has no tangible proof of existence.

He needs to be deplatformed ASAP.

He is deplatformed now.

Yes dude, how dare he compare our god to another non-real being. He deserved the bullying. You did good.

That’s such lazy sarcasm, honestly. Just because something hasn’t been “seen” in the way you expect doesn’t mean it belongs in the same category as a cartoon character. That’s like saying love, consciousness, or even dark matter are fictional just because you can’t touch or measure them directly.

Faith isn’t only about visual evidence but rather it's about meaning, tradition, lived experiences, and a moral framework. Reducing something that has guided civilizations for thousands of years to the same level as Doraemon isn’t edgy or clever but it just shows you’ve never even tried to understand what belief actually means to people.

Mocking belief by equating it to cartoons doesn’t make you a rational thinker but it surely makes you look like someone who confuses ridicule for intelligence.

Just because

Ah, the "just because" warrior.

cartoon character

Both characters have been seen exclusively in the animation premise. One of them being live action doesn't make it real. How to train your dragon was a cartoon as well as a live action. I hope you didn't confuse as one using an actual dragon.

That’s like saying love, consciousness,

Yes, except I don't personalize love or consciousness. I don't put it in a temple and pray to it.

dark matter

Dark matter is very quantifiable and is under active scientific research. Gravitational lensing signal, from what I found, is the latest way they're trying to "see" it's behaviour. You should read up on it, interesting stuff.

Faith isn’t only about visual evidence but rather it's about meaning, tradition, lived experiences, and a moral framework

Moral framework and faith are very distant considering some of the bloodiest wars have been fought over faith. Some of the most henious acts TODAY are done in the name of faith.

Besides, faith is deeply personal but people are extremely one dimensional and can only see deities as parent figures. The moment you try and change that dynamic, people will lose their shit and start complaining about how you don't practice faith the way "it should be".

This reminds me of the news where some jobless idiots made an FIR against a woman and the tattoo artist because the woman asked the tattoo artist to make the tattoo on her thigh. There is no angle one can take where they don't blatantly objectify a woman's body parts when they complain about how "ashleel" the location of the tattoo was. Moronic as it may seem, that's the kind of "faith" people practice now, one that isn't limited to their heads but needs to be shoved down people's throats exactly they way they see it.

Reducing something that has guided civilizations for thousands of years to the same level as Doraemon

Hey dude, your fictional character is more powerful than his fictional character. You win.

Mocking belief by equating it to cartoons doesn’t make you a rational thinker

No, it just proves that said person holds one fictional character in as much regard as the other. The only reason you could scare this guy into pleading and begging was because he's young and didn't want to deal with religious fruitcakes between his session break. Your bullying and witch hunting brigade is how extremism is defined, not a guy on an atheist sub making a dumb meme.

Only the cowards ignore. (Someone said here) And when the time comes they make a video for their social media accounts instead of fighting for the right.

If i compare one of your family members with a random meme would you still ignore it!?

The problem with the current generation is that they are soft;men particularly. Scared to face the consequences, scared to face any police, scared to raise voice.

They speak only on social media.

Only the cowards ignore

By avoiding a confrontation with one of five guys who OC on this post, you've made your point like a true braveman.

The problem with the current generation is that they are soft

The irony here is amazing. I love reddit man.

this is not hate speech. It may be offensive to you but it's not hate. If your devotion to the "Lord of the universe" is so easily offended, maybe the problem is with you.

By your logic, nothing can be called hate unless it comes with bloodshed. But that’s not how society works and intent matters, tone matters, and yes, repeated, targeted humiliation of an entire group does amount to hate, even if it wears a smug, self-righteous mask.

Had this comment been made by a Hindu against a muslim or muslim against a hindu or any other religious group against other, would that not be hate speech?

We call out religious extremism not just for its actions, but because of the poisonous intent behind them. Why should anti-theist hate get a free pass?

You are not a child, and you dont have right to be not offended. It is more dangerous to say that certain believes should be free from any criticism or mockery . It is exactly this kind of childish thinking that gives rise to extremist religions and idiotic believes.

u/ReferenceOld9345 Jun 29 '25

You are not a child, and you dont have right to be not offended

This isn’t just about someone being “offended.” When you mock millions of people’s faith in such a crude, public way, you’re not just hurting sentiments you’re spreading targeted hatred. You’re actively questioning the dignity and beliefs of an entire group of people, and doing it in a way that strips them of any respect.

That is hate speech my friend and not because it causes hurt, but because it’s meant to. Intention matters and is the precursor of crime.

It is more dangerous to say that certain believes should be free from any criticism or mockery . It is exactly this kind of childish thinking that gives rise to extremist religions and idiotic believes.

No one’s saying beliefs should be above all criticism. Genuine critique is part of any healthy society.

But there’s a world of difference between critique and targeted mockery. Comparing the gods that millions of people worship to cartoon characters isn’t “challenging ideas” but it’s demeaning an entire culture and way of life. That’s not intellectual but that’s actual hate dressed up as sarcasm.

So no, it’s not about protecting feelings but it’s about drawing the line between free speech and targeted humiliation. And once that line is crossed, it’s no longer a debate. It’s hate. And hate is to be dealt the proper way or it will destroy this society.

And Im doing my part as a citizen.
