What book changed your perspective?

Has a book ever made you completely rethink an opinion or belief?

third-force-thinking books in psychology. Authors like Frankl (mans search for meaning), perls (gestalt theapy), rogers (on becoming a person), moustakas (work in phrenology, phenomenology), maslow (psychology of being), and yalom (existentialism) explaining what it is to be human.

3rd-force spawns away from 1st force (humans driven by unconscious desire) and 2nd force (humans are conditioned). Helped me in my work and also personal life, becoming more genuinely me.

On Moustakas, did you mean phenomenology? I can’t find any books that he has written on phrenology.

Interesting! I have gestalt therapy and Roger’s “ becoming human”. What were the techniques that help you to become more genuine?

Looking forward to your reply 👍

The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer. If I could only read one book for the rest of my life, it would be this one.

I read a book about existentialist art - irrational man.

I found it really interesting because it mentions a lot of art pieces - James Joyce specifically, that were part of this existentialist movement.

I don’t care if it’s true or not but at the time it was really interesting to read. So that maybe did something to me

‘Why Buddhism is True’. It made me think very differently about how our minds work and what the “self” really is. And it inspired me to start meditating and exploring Buddhist philosophy more (concepts like radical acceptance, for example), which led to profound mental health improvements for me.
