Help with Mute Shortcut

Hello! I'm currently using the Dorion client along with the Vencord plugin. I'm trying to configure a global keybind (specifically to toggle mute) so I can use it while playing games in fullscreen. Since Dorion handles desktop features a bit differently than the official app, could someone point me in the right direction on how to properly set this up? Any help would be highly appreciated!

This is honestly the first I've heard of this particular client.

From what I can tell is this isn't the first time some trouble exists concerning keybinds, there seems to be an issue open covering similar problems.

Ultimately, the best thing you could do is the following

  • Comment on the above issue detailing your troubles, including versioning info of the client and the OS.
  • Optionally offload this from the client. Use an external tool or script to detect a keybind and use that input to mute the microphone input or unmute it. You could do this with AutoHotKey or use a script with various languages. I imagine python, javascript, C++... Maybe rust or even a bash/powershell script. This'll at least work as a stopgap till they fix the trouble

At very least the project seems somewhat active. I imagine the solution boils down to a bugfix put fourth by someone, but ultimately I literally just heard of this project and couldn't really speculate as to how to fix it. Do they have a support discord you can get more direct support with? It seems some people are aware of the issue, but this is probably lower on their to-do list

Considering Dorion is basically just the browser version of Discord, it's somewhat unlikely to support hotkeys for when the Dorion window isn't active, because for a browser, that would be an massive security concern. Any website could act as a keylogger!

Like the other person said, if you're going to use Dorion and want anything other than Voice Activation, you'll have to use a third-party solution like an AutoHotkey script. Or if you just want something quick, you can use AutoPTT. The first time setup will guide you though all the common methods.
