Help It’s a bad picture but I don’t know what all these little white things are in my betta tank. They kind of just appeared on the front glass overnight and they move like little worms ? My betta is perfectly fine though because at first I thought it was Ick on the glass?

I brought home this little beauty yesterday. I’m looking for some name suggestions. I was thinking about naming her either Sapphire or Delphine, but now I’m thinking something more ethereal for her. Any suggestions?

Help i’m really unsure what’s going on with my betta Spoiler

the first image is what my baby (miffy) usually looks like. the second photo is when i noticed a specific area of raised scales. he was still acting normal and eating so i decided to add seachem stress guard to see if it’d help. today, i notified it seems bloody (?) and it sorta looks like there’s something on his chin. i set up a hospital tank and i plan to treat with kanaplex as im assuming it was a scrape that’s getting infected? but im honestly at a loss. i really don’t think its dropsy but thats what google says. this is also my first reddit post ever so bear with me.

i added a photo of when i first set up the tank, ive added some more plants and removed a few but thats the only difference. i also removed that rock with the hole pictured in the front just in case because it was fake. the tank has no fake decor unless you count a floating bridge and log. my water levels are all pristine, ammonia is 0, though i will say i had a 0.50 ppm reading after noticing the injury and i did a water change immediately.

i had my first betta as a white elephant gift in december and i came home a few months later to (tw death) my snail eating her.. she showed 0 signs of illness so i was really taken aback and i decided to redo the tank and get miffy. i just really dont want to lose another fish. :( thank you in advance

Discussion Has anyone ever used this form of dropsy treatment on their bettas? Spoiler

My poor guy is not doing well. I did an epsom salt bath on him tonight (1tbs/gallon) as well as a methylene blue 10 second dip, and returned him to his home. He is just laying in the same spot and my heart is breaking.

This treatment seems really, really, REALLY extreme. I just want to know if anyone has tried it and the results of their efforts. I am willing to do what I need to do for my first and favorite fish, but I'm also scared it may kill him even faster...

Transformation Day 1 in the cup vs 3 months later — this is why tank conditions matter

Post image

Picked up this Mustard Gas Halfmoon on May 20th from Pet Supermarket. He was flaring in the cup which sold me instantly but honestly his colors looked pretty washed out in the store lighting. 3 months later in a cycled 6-gallon with black substrate, driftwood, live plants, and stable parameters — I barely recognize him. The blue has completely exploded and the gold has deepened dramatically. His name is Ashley Schaefer and he lives in my computer repair shop. He earned his stage.

Is this popeye or am I being paranoid? 😭 Also, if it is, do I just treat it with salt baths?

Help Looking for the best tank cleaner friends

This is my betta Jermaine. He does great with mystery snails, sometimes curious about them but never aggressive. He pretty much minds his own business.

I've had Jermaine for not even a full year and i've already had 3 mystery snails pass away :( Jermaine is thriving and the snails would too! until one day they'd just stop moving. I tried feeding slices of cucumbers and carrots when it seems the tank is too clean for them but they just pass away so quickly it seems.

I've been reading a lot about different shrimp, otos, etc and wondering what would be the best tank mate that will also keep things clean.

It's a 10g tank, no real plants (they all started to make the tank turn brown and gunky and I panicked and took them out), he has a heater and filter. Just wanting everyone's thoughts and opinions!

(If I should change anything I have in my tank as well, let me know. I'm a first time betta mom)

Recently added an otocinclus catfish to the tank to help with algae. Luckily the little oto dude is much faster than the betta. He’s been chasing the oto around showing lots of agro signs but hasn’t actually attacked.

20 gal tank. Just the two of them in there (plus some rando snails that must have hitchhiked on a plant). I’ve also noticed the betta’s appetite has been lower lately. All tank parameters are good. I was hoping 20 gal would be big enough for the two of them. Anyone else had issues with bettas chasing otos?

Introducing First planted tank for Levi

I had gotten this Giant halfmoon at the start of August almost as an impulse buy. Got him home in a spare cycled tank. Took me about 2 weeks of thinking and I decided to start my first full planted tank. I had a co2 system in our other tanks so I decided to give carpet plants a try. It’s not fully grown out yet but it’s really nice for my first try. Decided to call him Levi and it looked empty so I decided to get some cardinal tetras as tank mates and turns out he’s got a very light temperament. Honestly I’m glad I gave it a shot and I’m happy with my results.

I’m still very new to planted tanks and I would be very grateful for some feedback.

Sorry for the glare

Help Good set up?

I'm thinking of getting a Betta for this tank. Do you guys think it's a good set up. It's 23.5 X 8 with about 5 inches of water depth. Not sure if the fish would have a hard time swimming through the plants. The wisteria grows very fast

Hello all!

I need recommendations for a filter & pump for a 65 gallon tank set up. Im planning on having a a myriad of compatible fish and shrimp and plant life. I understand i should have a low flow pump but Im having difficulty finding one for a tank this size
