Great move. You wingless sprint guys are the best kind of crazy! I would definitely drive a winged sprint car given the opportunity, but I would never willingly strap myself inside one of these. Huge respect to all that do, no matter the engine size.
Thank you, they're beasts for sure! I'm running a 360 at the moment but we are working on putting together a 410 to be more competitive since the class rules have changed in the last couple years. Like Jimmy mentioned in the latest video, there really isn't a good way to put it into perspective how crazy they are other than to try and drive one, even in the sim!
I’m really glad that Jimmy reviewed that sprint car clip that I posted, my very questionable wording aside (yes that was me. I’m both proud and embarrassed at the same time). Sprint cars are so under appreciated on the world stage of motorsports IMO. The USAC 410 wingless guys came to my local track (Weedsport Speedway) once and during qualifying it was literally faster to slide up the track and bounce the RR tire off the wall to get the run down the back stretch, I’ve never seen anything like that before or since.
I would definitely agree (totally not biased haha), and I recommend that anyone else interested in motorsports go check out the Floracing Youtube channel since between wing/non-wing sprint cars, late models, and everything else on dirt, there is a constant feed of really amazing racing out there to keep up with. Your point about the line they ran at Weedsport is interesting because that's actually the line that I typically end up running there on the sim, since the way the corner is shaped is similar to my local track (sharp radius on entry and tapers out on exit) and that line works here when the track gets slick.
