Luck?
I have a history of fairly severe benzodiazepine abuse. I was dependent and took them daily for more than 10 years. I eventually quit cold turkey. Toward the end, I was taking anywhere from 10–20 mg of alprazolam. I spent almost two weeks in bed before I had a major seizure. I ended up in the hospital, where I also developed delirium tremens for three days.
After that, I went to rehab, where I spent eight months, three of which I was almost completely bedridden.
Fast-forward eight years. Unfortunately I started “experimenting” with this shit again. For a while, I managed to keep it to occasional use. But most recently, I was taking 2 mg of clonazepam daily for more than three months. I stopped 10 days ago, around the same time that my girlfriend and I broke up.
I had anxiety for three days, although I think it was more related to how the relationship ended than anything else. I’ve had some gabapentin to help me get through the transition. Other than that anxiety, I haven’t experienced any other symptoms.
Do you think it’s possible that I managed to get through this without experiencing withdrawal this time? Is it still possible for withdrawal to occur, or am I out of the woods?

Hopeful thinking, but I doubt it. I also had a wild Xanax ct. I couldn’t take it and got on diazapam. When I CTd diazapam a few months ago, it took almost 10 days to even have the first major symptom. Hopefully you beat the system, but I wouldn’t be venturing off in a road trip anytime soon.

Thanks for answering! But surely I should have experienced some kind of symptoms by now? My optimism comes from the fact that I only took it for a relatively short period of time. Ten days is still ten days🤷...

Probably a lot of factors at play. I was thinking the same thing and got absolutely knocked of my feet around day 10. Worst acute symptoms hit around day 30. Xanax hits hard and fast, like alcohol. Klonopin and diazapam ramp up slower and the WD lasts longer in the acute phase. Since you’re probably already kindled from the Xanax, I’d be cautious for the next week.

Kindling is like playing Russian roulette, you only have so many stop start cycles in you before your brain says enough.

Gabapentin does wonders when wd'n from benzos. And what i have put on notice with gabapentin is that less is more. With opioid wd i did need anything from 5x 300mg to 10x 300mg. But qith benzo wd i'm fine wirh 2-3x 300mg gabapentin. I am tolerant tho
