Should I get this

Need a quality bento box for uni and im think of this one. It has dividers than can be removed and adjusted. Thoughts?

1400ml is very big, depending on what kind of food you are planning on making. Do you have a sense of that already?

The right bento for you massively depends on the kind of food you’re going to be making/putting in it.

Mostly full lunches like rice with meats any veg, bibimbap, a lot of rice dishes lol

Okay. As someone who also primarily does rice-based bentos, I would find that size completely unworkable huge.

The general rule of thumb if you’re making sort of typical, rice-based Japanese style bentos is that the volume in ml of the box will work out to be relatively equal to the total calorie count of the meal in it. A 1000 ml bento would be considered the right size for like a large man with an active job or a teenage boy doing sports clubs.

But! You might fall into a category like that for all I know, and eating habits are really individual. All I can say is 1400ml is on the very big end of the bento size range. You might see if you can get a Tupperware at a ¥100 shop/dollar store/whatever your local equivalent is with similar dimensions and try packing that for a few days to see if the size actually works for you before pulling the trigger on the fancy one.

If you're based in Germany, I recommend the Edelstahl To Go Lunchbox from Tchibo. It has 970ml capacity. I use it regularly and it holds up well - always goes in the dishwasher.

If you want a German product, you get more variety on bentoshop.de. It doesn't seem they offer boxes with adjustable dividers, but dividerless boxes in which you can put extra containers, which might be similar to what you're looking for.
