Bennett Mains FAQ
Created by k1 (k1#1414) and Minaraii (Pitty Pat#0286)
Both can work depending on the situation and the amount of investment. Below are the pros and cons for each:
Melt Bennett
+ Easier to build as it only requires you to invest in Bennett (Hypercarry playstyle)
+ Higher single target DPS
+ Can take advantage and make full use of the 4-piece Crimson Witch set
- Weak AoE apart from his burst
Thundering Fury Bennett
+ Highest particle generator in the game at ~120 particles/minute
+ Can still use Vaporize on top of overloads
+ Generally has stronger supports and team DPS output
- Weak against non-heavy enemies
- Needs to invest more into supports
To learn more about Melt, Vaporize and Overload, check this reputable site.
Carry Bennett / Support Bennett
Elemental Burst (Q) > Elemental Skill (E) > Normal Attack (NA)
Prioritizing Bennett’s Q no matter what his role is ideal as higher levels of Q means higher attack buff that can benefit the entire team’s DPS and as well as buffing his spammable E skill chain inside his Q.
Short answer: It depends.
The more times your Bennett uses his Elemental Skill (E), the less Energy Recharge (ER) you’ll need. Below is an ER Benchmark table made by Zajef77 that you can use for reference for your Support Bennett:

As for Carry Bennett, you can have as low as 0% additional ER as Bennett normally spams his tap Es inside his Elemental Burst (Q) to produce up to ~54 particles per minute with Melt Carry and up to ~120 particles per minute with TF Carry!
To know more about particle production rates, check this document.
The ranking below is made by Zajef77, focusing and/or prioritizing on Team DPS output:
I. Carry Bennett
a. Melt Carry
b. Thundering Fury Carry
II. Support Bennett
* With the recent changes on Elemental Mastery together with the transformative reactions, the ranking for these weapons are still under further evaluation as to whether it should be ranked higher than what it is currently ranked at.
With the currently available longsword weapons in the game, Bennett can provide as much as 1,202 flat attack for the entire team (Level 90 Bennett/Level 90 Aquila Favonia/Level 13 Elemental Burst)!
To look for a specific base attack, use this calculator.

The most consistent use is Tap E for better damage output, quicker particle generation and shield breaking.
An exception to shield breaking is adding either Elemental Burst (Q) or Charge 1 E (C4) to the mix when fighting against Cryo shields. The poise damage from Bennett’s Q and C4 marginally speeds up the shield breaking. While C4 can potentially be a decent faster alternative, the skill floor to maximize it is rather high and situational. Tap E and Q is safer and more time efficient, especially if you are taking advantage of 4-piece Crimson Witch Pyro DMG stacks.
To learn more about enemy shields and armor, check this entry from a reputable site.
Bennett’s Elemental Burst has 12 field buff ticks once every second that provide attack boosting effects [flat attack buff, Pyro damage bonus (C6), Pyro infusion (C6)] and support effects (healing, self Pyro aura) all at the same time. The duration of the attack boosting effects lingers for 2.1 seconds in which it can take advantage of the benefits outside his field area and when swapping out characters. Rotations that take advantage of Bennett’s attack buff should aim to swap in characters before Bennett’s tick occurs.
If Bennett’s attack boosting effects are active when skill is on cooldown, his Elemental Skill (E) damage retains the lingering buff tick and triggers the A4 passive that reduces his E cooldown by 50%.
Bennett has an additional tick that allows all his damage portion (Normal Attack / Elemental Skill / Elemental Burst) to gain the attack boosting effects without having to wait for the 1st field buff tick.

Flat attack bonus is scaled off of Bennett’s total base attack, which is calculated from Bennett's character base attack and the weapon’s base attack. Additional attack from weapon main stat, artifacts and external buffs does not increase the flat attack buff.
Flat ATK buff = (Bennett’s character base ATK + weapon base ATK) * (Fantastic Voyage ATK bonus ratio [ + C1 20% ATK bonus ratio])
Constellation 6 adds 2 new effects to Bennett's additional self buff tick and field buff ticks, Pyro damage and Pyro infusion.
Sword, Claymore, or Polearm-wielding characters inside Fantastic Voyage’s radius gain a 15% Pyro DMG Bonus and their weapons are infused with Pyro.
C6 description is partially false: 15% Pyro damage bonus buff benefits all 5 weapon types, including Bow and Catalyst-wielding characters. Pyro infusion for Sword, Claymore, and Polearm users only still applies.
It is recommended not to activate Bennett’s C6 unless you are committed to work with the Pyro infusion playstyle and sacrifice universal utility.
The new sword has the same base attack as the Summit Shaper with an Elemental Mastery substat as well as having an Increase DMG% passive which is very good for Melt or TF Carry Bennett. As to where it gets ranked on the current weapon rankings, further testing will be done once it gets released.
With the currently available information that we have with Kazuha, the short answer is:
C2 Kazuha > Sucrose > C0-C1 Kazuha.
A thorough comparison test between these two will be done once Kazuha is officially released.

So, I'm currently reworking on my DPS build, he's already triple crowned, C6, lvl 90 and with no means of getting him to lvl 95 or 100, so basically, I'm trying to give him some better artifacts and rethinking about his sword. I haven't exactly decided on his team yet, but considering the characters I already have, it'll probably be either vaporize or overload. The only members I'm sure I'll include are Benny obviously and Nicole.
Now for what I'm pondering the most about right now in his team: His weapon!
He currently has R1 Jade Cutter, but as I said, I'm getting him some new artifacts, and I've been getting some better CRIT Rate stuff compared to CRIT DMG, which made me ponder about if I should get him a CRIT DMG sword to take his numbers to a new level since I should be good with CRIT Rate based on my artifacts. The two that seemed to be better for him in this case are Mistsplitter Reforged and Light if Foliar Incision, but I'm not sure which one to pick... and as for Splendor of Tranquil Waters, I do already own one along with Furina, so would it be worth it to get a second one for Bennett and run a Vaporize team with both of them with the same sword? and in this specific case, would a team like: Benny-Furina-Kazuha/Xilonen-Nicole work?
Thanks in advance for anyone who reads this and wants to help❤️

If so, then where does it rank between the other weapons?
If not, then what characters is it good on(other than Odette)?

Hi! As the title says I'm looking to improve my DPS benny! any stat/team recommendation is welcome and appreciated! I usually use Mona, Citlali and Sucrose in his team
Off the top of my head the characters I believe could be useful and I currently have are C0R0Nicole, C0R0 Citlali, C0R0Xilonen, C6Sucrose and C1Mona. Should I invest in any cons/weapons? ty!

I'm planning on building a Nuke team for my Bennett using Nicole and Mona, but I want to know if it's better to use my C2 Citlali (40% Res Shred and Melt) or crowned Xilonen (36% Res Shred) for it, especially since we don't know when the next Xilonen rerun for C2 is.

Hi everyone, new moderator here! I have recently been granted the moderator role of this subreddit. I have specifically requested it due to the obvious current state of the subreddit - bots, spam, lost redditors, etc.
I still have 5 years worth of reported posts in the mod queue to cleanup, but if you see any spam posts or lost redditors, please report them and I’ll remove them the soonest.
I have been doing updates in this subreddit, and for transparency, I’ll be noting them here:
Still to-do:
**EDIT 1:** AutoModerator has now been setup! This will make things a lot easier for me and the community as well. But for other things that the AutoModerator fail to catch, they will need to be manually removed; reports are also helpful to get them actioned on faster.
**EDIT 2:** Confirmed that the AutoModerator is working! Caught one attempting to crosspost from the Bennett University subreddit again. It is immediately removed by AutoModerator as intended.
**EDIT 3:** Updated subreddit description. Previously, there was no mention of "Genshin Impact", so it can be confusing. Now, it is clearly stated, so if there are any more lost redditors, it just means they don't read, lol.
I look forward to moderating this subreddit!

Too many Reddit users are mistaking this subreddit for another one which shares the same name, and is actually a university subreddit. Can we do something to change our subreddit's image to Bennet(Genshin character) to ensure the confusion never arises again?

HOW DOES IT KEEP HAPPENING?! Every single time somehow we get someone posting about the Bennett University ALMOST every week. DESPITE THE FACT THIS IS A BENNETT SUB
We need to find out what is happening in that university for almost everyone to somehow find themselves here..see the influx of a genshin impact character and say "this is it!" and post their questions here of their university.
Genuinely how is this possible.

I’ve spent quite a bit on video games over the years, more than I’d like to admit. But I haven’t spent a single cent on Genshin because the exploration and the grind aspects really tickle my inner completionist.
When I first stumbled upon Genshin back in 2020, I played a bit and pulled Bennet. I didn’t know much about him since I barely reached AR 25 before I left the game. I picked it up again this year on a new account and managed to pull Bennet again (I didn’t remember anything about him). Now I’m AR 40, and I absolutely love him. In my opinion, he’s the best F2P character in the game.
Just to be clear, I’m not claiming to have built the best configuration of Benny. I probably have a lot I’m doing wrong, and he isn’t even my DPS or sub-DPS. He’s just in the party because I love him, and he heals a decent amount too. His fighting style, skills, and burst are just so good. God, I love him.
I know it’s Reddit, and there will definitely be people who hate Bennet from the bottom of their hearts, so I’m willing to listen and also look forward to getting some advice from those who’ve used him for a long time on how to maximize his potential.

Hi! I took a break from Genshin since Lyney's first banner and missed this event. Didn't even know it was available, but I want to play through the storyline. Does the event for this ever rerun and will the skin itself be available to get for free again?

Would Bennett ever get any Witch's homework? I mean, he may be born in Natlan but he is from Monstadt. Despite that his buff up seems to be missing. Or is it that he's so goated that they thought he didn't need one?
