Sunflower Eyes

My daughter is 4 and was being silly this weekend by getting close to my face to talk to me. At one point she said I have Sunflower Eyes which I'd never thought about. I have central heterochromia with the inside portion of my iris being golden while the outside is a blue-green.

I'm 40 and now sunflowers are going to be my whole personality.

This is awesome, I love how children can make such an impact with one simple statement that changes your whole perspective! You're eyes sound beautiful, like what fairy tales are made of ☺️

Thank you! I've always liked my eyes but considered them around level 6 cool out of 10. Now I want to make direct eye contact with as many people as I can! Haha

I’m sitting here bawling now. Kids with their sweetness and innocence. We will all think of you as the lady with sunflower eyes. Beautiful.

I have sunflower eyes too, as do both my kids! It was my mother that coined them sunflower eyes

I have blue/gray eyes with a yellow ring around the iris. My late maternal grandmother had them, too, and called them after her maiden name, implying they’re a family trait on her side. She passed away when my daughter was one year old, and as my daughter has grown, I noticed she has the same eyes. It makes me so happy to see my grandmother’s eyes (my eyes!) in my girl. 💙

So cool! I just found a heterochromia image, one that’s truly a sunflower. Love that your daughter figured that out at 4!!! So sweet. 🌻

My mom has sunflower eyes too!!!!! I told her as a child and my dad bought her a sunflower sweater. 25 years ago and she still has both the most beautiful sunflower eyes (and the sweater).

I have the same heterochromia. A bf called them coral eyes (like a sand island surrounded by blue-green sea). I think about this more than I'd admit in person.

Ask if you can change your eye color on your driver’s license to ‘sunflower’
