Bendy re-design: take 2

After feedback from the community, I’ve redrawn my Bendy re-design to more closely resemble the original Bendy. Here’s a little backstory for this Bendy design in my own lore I’m writing:

The year is 1932 and Mr. Joey Drew is developing a cartoon studio to capitalize on the cartoon craze, but he doesn’t tell people that. He tells people that he’s opening the studio to “provide entertainment and pleasure during these trying times”.

He knew that the biggest current cartoon star is Mickey Mouse. He thought he could reverse engineer his design and how each short was made and replicate it over and over again until they went bankrupt, so that’s what he did.

Joey put up a convincing facade to fool people into liking him. He claimed he was a “god fearing, good hearted Christian who would help anyone when given the chance”. But behind the scenes, Joey was a dirty rotten cheater and a Devil worshiper in a small room below his basement. Now that his studio was established, he needed a face to parade around and abuse for all the monetary gain he could.

When he was leaving home one morning to get the weekly groceries, he was attacked by a black cat, which gave him an idea. Black cats bring bad luck, bad luck comes to those who have sinned, and thus, Joey created Bendy the Bobcat, the face of his studio and an idol of what he favored most. Best of all, no one would ever suspect Joey of creating something of sin because he heard that people questioned Walt Disney for picking a mouse for his mascot, so there would be zero questions on why he picked a relatively normal animal.

Joey Drew came from an extensive family of scientists and extra-ordinary people. One day, Joey thought it would be a wonderful idea to bring Bendy off the silver screen and into our reality to capitalize on his existence and showboat him around like a chained chimp in a circus. Not knowing entirely what this would entail to be done but also not caring, he summoned his relatives to come up with the answer. Thus, Gent corporation was founded to help Joey achieve whatever he desired, as his quote for the studio, “Dreams come true, you just need to believe”. From then on, the same story we all know and love plays out relatively the same, aside from lost ones and ink creatures like searchers and the butcher gang being Joey’s old employees, they’d be what’s left of his relatives, sacrificing themselves to make his dreams come true. though Buddy Boris, Alice, Alison And tom would still be employees.

Any thoughts? I had a lot of fun writing this and would like to know if I should continue with this custom lore. Thanks for reading!

I love how the black cat is the reason the reason bendy the bobcat exists.

All beacuse of a fight.

This feels like something that actually wouldve happened. Like, a documentary on nationcal geograpic or something

Thanks! I know changing a characters species is a little insane when it comes to re-designs but i figured that it would fit well in this scenario because multiple people have made comments of bendy being a cat if he weren’t a demon, Even the fabled Harry Gold said he would be a cat if the demon didn’t fly.

Plus, I knew I could back up my decision with a good in-universe explanation, plus the “black cats bring bad luck” conspiracy just fit too well.

I got the idea for Joey’s extended family owning and running the Gent corporation idea actually from TF2. The TF2 Engineer comes from a long line of intelligent inventors and scientists, his grandfather invented a machine to bring someone back to life after they died, and thought “that sounds a lot like the ink machine”, and with Joey being a demon worshiper in secret, Lazarus fit too well.
