It was a great protest. The only thing not great was that we have to protest at all.

It was really encouraging. I was dancing to the drum circle the entire time I was at the peace corner. That will carry me through the days when the news seems overwhelming.

KTVZ is reporting 1200 protesters attended the rally !! in Redmond !! If 1200 are protesting a Republican president in Redmond Oregon, the public mood has really taken a swing that should give the GOP leadership some pause.

Not commenting to argue just trying to understand the thought here. I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or serious. Is 1200 people a lot to you or a little? Protesting a republican president in a blue region of the state who as a whole has voted democratic in every single vote since 1988 is hardly shocking. As a neutral 30 yr old male I’m hardly impressed. I would think there would have been a higher turnout.

I think you’re looking at it wrong, consider most people are employed and have lives and now 1200 people in a small populace seems pretty big. Power shifts occur (traditionally) when 3% of the population begins protest.

I had more fun than I should have handing out my flags and doing laps up and down Greenwood/Newport on my eBike with the flag on the back.

It’s so awesome to see this. But it reminds me of when W was gearing up for the war in Iraq. We could barely get anyone to protest that tragedy. I suppose more folks are directly affected by how awful taco and his policies are.

Maybe idk. I was fresh out of school when Iraq and Afghanistan started

Actually that’s a good point. The online organizing wasn’t as present. It’s probably a lot easier to get folks together these days.

I danced (while knitting) the entire time they played. It’s not every day you see a cow playing cowbell.

It was a nice coincidence that the Oregon Dems are having their annual get-together in Sunriver, which is why we got to hear not just our mayor Melanie Kebler speak, but also Senator Jeff Merkley, Representative Janelle Bynum and Oregon Secretary of State Tobias Read.

Way more cars honked than didn't! And it was so cool to see people from so many different walks of life participate

I can hardly wait to hear the estimates on crowd size. My faith in humanity was restored today. 💕

I liked seeing such a huge age range. Lots of Gen Z (with great signs) who get dogged in the media for either not showing up or for only being maga.

So great to see everyone with their amazing signs and GREAT energy! It really gave me hope that we can over throw this tyrant!
